Not another guess in this post, but I NEED to ask Barrett what the MOTS knife is on the lower right?? IMHO, that's a "pearl" of great price, speaking nostalgically rather than monetarily!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

VICTOR!!!!!

Looks like my last clue settled it :D GT's persistence and maybe that legendary slide-rule has paid off;) NINE FIVE NINE it is. Serial winner.

Congratulations to GT I don't have your postal address anymore but I'll be in touch shortly.

My thanks to everybody who took part and thus let us see some really excellent knives in the process, lot of fun for me and well done everybody:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Will

Thanks very much, Will, for the generous, intriguing, exciting, and exhausting GAW!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::rolleyes: Fantastic photos throughout the thread!:thumbsup::cool:

I'm going to credit my "win" to Will's clues, my fascination with palindromes, other participants helping to narrow down the possibilities, and Jeff's suggestion to include a picture of a knife Will gifted him. The Hen & Rooster mini canoe in the post with my winning guess is a generous gift from Will!:thumbsup: I also have to say that I was about to guess 949 and 959 when Jeff chimed in with 949, and I actually made a different guess because I thought Jeff was going to follow up with 959, but I took that number as soon as he took 676 for his next guess. (Of course I then went on to several other guesses, I think.)

Will, do Mazdas in Finland come with model numbers like 323 and 626, which were common Mazda models in the U.S.? Another palindromic connection!:rolleyes:

Thanks again, Will!

I had to look up MOTS. :D That's a little Richards sleeveboard pattern that I won in @Jack Black's Take the Gold or Open the Box GAW. (In fact, I think that was an extra knife Jack threw in, as if he hadn't included enough already. :))

Well many moons ago in the LAST CENTURY :D:D  they did have these 626 etc models even a 923 I believe, but now it's just 2,3,5,6 with various suffixes MX or CX. No 4 models as I understand 4 is considered an unlucky No. in some Asian cultures.:(

I should have stuck with saturation bombing, but instead I switched targets! My bad. :(
Congrats GT, and thanks for the fun, Will.
