I'm using vegitable oil too, for the time being. It's not a very thirsty blade, which I'm taking as a good sign. Anything else I should do to this thing?
Uhhh, Cymro. What are you using the veggie oil for? If it's to protect the blade it's best to use mineral oil if you want something non-toxic. The veggie oil will go rancid after a while.
If it doesn't matter if it's non-toxic then any good protective oil is fine, we all have our favorites.
I am quite fond of Ballistol-Lube which is good for steel, brass, wood, and leather and scrapes and bruises and minor cuts.
