its something i have needed for a long time for my adventures in the woods and elsewhere.......:D

guess what it is?

:)

still figuring out the camera, its freaking loaded with goodies. Also, i run LINUX on the puter, so hope i can download....

EDIT: just figured out the cam has a macro, super macro (down to 1 centimeter shooting distance

Good snag! Fujifilm makes excellent cameras (IMHO). I use a compact FF E550 with a 4X optical zoom and get pretty decent results. That 15X optical is gonna get you up close and personal. And image stabilization! Can't wait to see some of your pics.

So, where's the pictures?!

You are going to have fun with the macro! That's probably my favorite feature of any camera, I spend entirely too much time trying to sneak up on things.

having issues uploading the photos to photobucket.....the system hangs. I can download pics from the cam to my Linux box really fast though....

EDIT: never mind....

here is the first pic i took with the camera

Seems like it would do better with more light! I'd suggest poking around the 'Net for a DIY light box.

Well its about time...you are now in the club. Folks that dont provide pics for viewing pleasure are just leaching off of us anyway.....just kidding. I do love seeing pics from around the US and the world..very cool.

For macro pictures indoors you better use a tripod, the timer and no flash but good lighting. That way you can let the camera figure out the exposure time and it will stay completly still in the meantime. You will get crisp pictures every time instead of blurry ones. You can use the flash but at such a short distance I doubt you will get a good ligthing of the object.

MIKEL, thanks, there is a setting that allows for digital focusing, i'll play around with it. Getting a Mannfrotto (spelling?) tripod this week.
