Has anyone been following this here:
http://www.emersonknives.com/ekSuperSecret.php

It doesn't look like an auto, as one of the clues said that pressing a button does something. Its handle looks like its from an old Colt 45, i.e. the diamond shape at the pivot and at the other end. And those bullets at the right is another clue.

I'm sure we're all excited eh?;)

That looks like a tan handled 19-eleven.

click on "knife of the year" and scroll down a bit: http://www.emersonknives.com/ECA/Home.html

Your correct in that the fuzzy photo has the same grip panel & blade design as the "19-Eleven". In the Clue photo I can't see the linerlock as well as I can on the 1911. I wonder if there is a new lock design such as an Axis or something? Can't imagine it being an auto with the wave on the top of the blade. Love that "19-Eleven" though! :D:thumbup:

probably not a frame lock, i dont think ernie will do anymore of those, not on production stuff anyway.

Since the old CQC12 was discontinued a while ago, I vote that it be the new version of CQC12. Gotta love that blade shape !

Did they not sell well? They seem to be popular. Or maybe that's just among us? A CQC-12 is on my want list.:)

no they didnt sell well, though they may be popular with enthusiasts mainstream folks balked at the price, so no the CQC12 and HD7 did not sell well, they also cost a lot to make from what i understand, so they are disco'd.

if the knife on the site is a '12 it will be a liner lock '12, if he made that i would think "why", its just too close to a '13 imho.

really the blades on the '12 & '13 are pretty close to the same thing, darned close,

Emerson frame locks not selling. That blows my mind.
And Strider keeps banging out FL's.

Maybe it's because Strider and CR own that category? Who else makes a good framelock?

I think there just wasn't enough profit for the gnomes(South Park reference).
I mean, not much more profit was made by swithing to steel for the non-locking side, but that got done anyway.

Thanks guys. I'd choose an Emerson FL over a Strider FL.
Here's the thing---I like the liner lock better.

i feel ya bud, go figure.

imho they shoulda flamed the ti or something so it didnt look so plain vanilla, my wife always said it looked like it was missing something ie it needed some G10 or carbon fibre to cover up the ti lol.

but strider cant make enuff at $400 or so and EKI has probs selling theres at quite a bit less, like i said go figure.

striders are cool knives, honestly though while i have had probably a dozen SnG's/SmF's/AR's/GB's thru theyrs i have never edc'd one for any amount of time, oh i have hear and there but they never knocked one of my EKI's outta the rotation, i also like the EKI's better, liner lock or frame lock.

1A--I had an SnG. Top of the shelf folder. But the SnG did not move me like the CQC-7. I gotta me moved! :D

I like how you think. A push button type lock like on my CQC Mark 1 would be sweeeeeeeetttttttt!!!!!

Maybe Emerson will collaborate with Benchmade again. I would love a cqc8, cqc7, cqc13, with an axis lock.
