Hi, all.

I am looking for some guidance on how best to best proceed with a potential trade with another member. This would be my first trade.

- Both knives are in the $600 range. The other member offered $75 + their knife for mine.
- I have no feedback, but the other member has some positive feedback

Any guidance is appreciated.

I am not a trader, or particularly like trading, but can give you a little info
Trading works best between individuals that know and trust each other
Ask plenty of ?'s and get plenty of photo's so you are sure what you are getting
I would ask other party(to be sure), that if you are not happy with the trade, it can be reversed, and that they guaranty delivery(in case of USPS problem)
Usually parties ship at he same time
terms are negotiable, but you are under no obligation to trade your knife, so you don't have to accept terms not to your liking
Good luck

Even if a seller/buyer/trader has limited to no feedback look up their posts on their profile. That will give you a sketch of the way they act.
Maybe, maybe not. I'm rather new and have purchased a handful of knives here. The last knife that I posted "I'll take it" was ignored and never got a response from the seller. After a while I withdrew my offer and the seller then sold the knife. In his defense he did state that he reserves the right to sell to whomever he pleases, he at least could have responded to my post. Before withdrawing my offer, I checked his status and he had been online here several times before I withdrew.
I took it that he didn't want to sell to me.

My point is if you check my post's you'll see where I posted a "I'll take it" and then didn't but I had a reason for it.

You might have missed what I was saying. You look at the poster's other posts across the site to get a read on their character. If someone only posts in the sales area and there is a bunch of drama around those posts then it's a good idea to keep walking. New members don't have any history so they do get excluded until their name is recognized.

I would look for...
Long time
Active paid members.
20+ positive feedback

I most cases you will be asked to ship first because of your limited feedback.
Because I do with little feedback.

Tracking number....
Get signiture confirmation.

Trust your gut - if someone is over eager, bad with communication, and kind of an a___ . Pass.

Save all communication with the member you trade with as well, at least until both parties are happy.
