...Anyone else guilty of carrying two (or more) knives on their person at any given time in situations where you have no justifiable practical reason to carry more than one knife (urban EDC for instance)?

...There might not be a functional purpose, but going to work today with a Gayle Bradley clipped to the left pocket and BM 275 clipped to the right pocket makes me feel all magical inside.

Dual wielding for everybody!

I am. 3 usually. And I don't need them. I have a SAK, a Delica clipped (which get's used most often), and frequently an Izula for when "things get rough" in terms of heavy use...which to date, hasn't happened. I do it because I like doing it.

Ugh, agreed.... Part of it feel so ridiculously unnecessary but so incredibly awesome at the same time. Dual wielding fixed blades, especially kukris or a solid mora, also feels really good in bushcraft settings.

You just hit a big home run with that one. That's the whole point of knife buying/collecting/hoarding, though most folks pretend its all about blade steel, FFG, lockup, etc.

As for me, I have a Sog mini Aegis on me, plus a Victorinox Swisstool Spirit on my belt (another blade), and a Vic Manager in my pocket (another blade). My insides feel all magical too.

Haha, good to hear! I've always found it interesting how different people arrive at cutlery as a hobby. Most arrive through the outdoors, military, or rural work avenue. Others arrive through interests in swords and martial arts. Others through video games and music.

But yes, duel wielding, like carrying any good blade, does lead to that magical feeling inside. The ancient primordial connection to sharp objects! Yay!

I enjoy owning as well as carrying. I have a ZT550blk, a Vic Manager, and a BK14 on me right now. I would have had my Kershaw Cryo on me as well but I couldnt find it this morning :grumpy:

Yep, I always have 2 or more on me. Right now since IM at work I have an endura 4, spyderco dragon fly, and my always on me leatherman juice s2. I have different uses for each knife.small blade for in front of customers, big blade for heavier duty tasks. And multi tool for whatever. O I also have my create skyline fixed blade in my coat

along with my multitool i carry usually a single folder which i already feel is being redundant

sometimes i'll carry 2 just for the hell of having so many knives... some deserve pocket time and i dont know of any other practical way.

Today I walked in with my Superhawk, and Lil Temp. You know, in case there's a rope to cut AND apples to peel.

I too am a carrier of many blades for no reason other than to never be "outknifed" (if that's a word), and it ensures that I will always have a back-up in case one or two are stolen, misplaced, or otherwise lost.

Currently in my pockets are a Victorinox Huntsman, and a Leatherman Sidekick, also an Outdoor Edge Mini Blaze on my Survival Carabiner (firesteel, scraper, tops emergency whistle, maglite solatiare, Mini Blaze, all on a Leatherman carabiner) clipped to a belt loop. I also have my Tops Firestike 45 in my backpack, being at work I am not wearing it on my belt but it is available to me should the need arise.

So that makes 4 blades of my own that I carry on a day in/day out basis, you should see what I carry when camping or hunting, that is a whole different story.

I edc a 350ts clipped and a keychain size victorinox in the bottom of my pocket. But sometimes I have up to 5 on me if I'm showin them off. But the 2 are everyday the others are extras =]

The extras are:
Gerber mid tanto
kershaw cryo
Kershaw chill
Leatherman wave
melon tester knife
camillus cuda
gerber paraframe 1
Ontario rat 1
Ok I'm stopping the list now but it goes on. These are just regular rotation aside from the norm.

Currently, I'm on duty, so I can't say for "no reason", but carrying a KaBar TDI, Emerson CQC-15, and Leatherman Wave. Typically, on any other day, will have a SAK (vic) tinkerer, and either the Emerson, ZT 0550, or one of a few assorted Kershaws (typically carry SAK and one other.

Hell yea. I always carry two knives on me. Usually one high price knife and one budget one that I'm not afraid to get dirty.

I always have two on me - a larger clip on folder, and my Vic waiter.

I use them as required and appropriate.

^^^ This %100. I've got a ZT0300 in my coat pocker, a Cold Steel Recon 1 :o RFP, a SAK tinker in coat pocket, SAK rambler on my keychain, a SAK Fireman in my bag, and a camillus sizzle floating around, from LFP I believe. Plus a large and a keychain sized multitool.:rolleyes:

I'm a knife/gear junky so I carry numerous knives and flashlights everday, some on me in pockets, some in my coat, some in my bag. I'm a metal detectors worst nightmare. :D:rolleyes:

I am also guilty of carrying several knives (3 actually) most of the time. I normally carry a zt 560, zt 550, and a spyderco military. At first it was because I couldn't decide which one I liked more so I carried all three with the idea that I would see which one I used the most and carry only that one. After a while though it just became habit and now I carry all three all the time.

I know what you mean. Im sitting at home in basketball shorts and have a Cold Steel ak 47 and a SAK tinker, I will probably use them MAYBE once today. If anyone tells me thats stupid or ridiculous I can remind them that i have more knives than they do and that ALL of mine are bigger ;). I carry them because they give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
