Guilty pleasures while in nature.

I have a flask of whiskey. Jack Daniel's to be exact.

And I always have tea.

One of my favorite things to do, is to make me canteen cup of tea, once I reach my destination. I always carry a blank full of sugar, and a couple of lemon juice packets, I drink the tea as a marker that I finished my journey, and the whiskey is for the downhill out.

An H. Upmann cigar or two. My dad used to bring us a couple when we camped at the creek.

iPod, because I need good tunes! A little bourbon (I'm a Bulleit man, myself) and a cigar.

The bourbon and cigars are for overnight trips though, when I'm relaxing by the fire. I'll omit those if i'm just going on a day hike.

You guys need to look into better bourbons. :barf: :D Myself, the one true luxury I take is an extra thick sleeping mat. Can't beat a good night sleep.

Ok, we may not agree on our choice of libations, but we can certainly agree on this!! :thumbup: After hiking all day and then prepping camp, I very much look forward to a little cushion underneath me!

my solar charger works the same way. I just leave it out during the day and then plug in the ipad/phone when it gets low in the evening. I have done this pretty successfully while backpacking for a couple of weeks. It's just a great little tool to have.

I wised up a while ago and got into hammocks. I'll never go to the ground again. Best sleep I've ever had, no back pains and a camp chair are just a few of the advantages!
