The glutton. I wanted to show the end result of a post in "what's going on"... thread from 11-21-17 that was pre heat treat. Too many knives named wolverine so I went with the catchy scientific name and yes I'm a slow finisher. The knife is 9.5" overall, 2" tall and about 5" cutting edge in .204" 5160 at RC59. The Bocote scales go really well with the theme, I think, like flowing hair, and I really like the look of copper pins. The blade is hand sanded to 600 grit and scales are finished to 600 grit with Danish oil.
For me tooling animals in leather is very difficult, I can barely draw stick figures freehand but in the end I can't say I could do any better at this point. The second one of four will have an updated design where the animal is facing forward and it's already looking promising on my practice pieces.
All feedback and advice, but especially critique is highly appreciated. Thanks for looking.
