When people vote for the sort of despots that would defy our Constitution and attack the law abiding gun owners of this nation, why would it come as a surprise that those same despots also want to deprive us of other freedoms? Guns aren't your thing and knives are - fine. Freedom is freedom and if we aid tyrants when they deprive others of their freedoms, who will be there to help when the tyrants come for ours?

... you can't say freedoms are being taken now when many of the things in question (*ahem* automatic knives) were outlawed widely a long time ago.
You aren't losing freedom now so much as the government trying to stop idiots. The new gun laws and whatnot are basically speed limits being added to the knife and gun world. Yes, you are losing the freedoms to carry and own anything, but don't blame the politicians, blame the idiots that prompted these changes to be made.
The majority of both democrats and republicans support the second amendment and believe everybody has the right to carry (being it a gun or knife) anything within reason. You cannot say your freedoms are being stolen when only the outliers are being banned (think assault weapons and huge knives). The big thing that needs to be addressed is that a knife IS NOT more dangerous than a gun. Carrying a handgun is legal almost everywhere, but many kinds of knives are widely banned. Even in most of the "republican" states, there are heavy restrictions on knives, be it length, opening mechanism, whatnot.
Knives are tools first, weapons second, yet they are more widely banned than something that is a weapon first... and nothing else, only a weapon. I don't mean to sound political, but you can't say freedoms are being taken now when many of the things in question (*ahem* automatic knives) were outlawed widely a long time ago.

We aren't losing freedom but we are losing freedoms? Alrighty then!
I blame anyone who thinks it is ok to punish me for someone else's shortcomings. I don't keep my daughter off the internet because my son looks at porn. I don't take away employee A's key to the store because employee B stole. I don't want my knives or guns, ANY OF THEM, taken away because some asshole can't behave.
