Gun. Knife. Flashlight........Pry Tool?

I've broken a couple tips off from using a knife for prying and eventually learned my lesson. So, I keep a micro widgy pry bar on my key chain and haven't damaged a tip since.

Yea I broke a little piece of the tip off my Buck 112 trying to dig a .357 bullet out of a tree, dumb, I know.

I've tried carrying a little mini pry bar around but I never needed it. I try to keep what I EDC at a minimum. I hate having full pockets.

I've been carrying knives, SAK, and MT for years and just haven't found too many instances where I needed heavy duty prying. The few times I needed to do some light stuff, the flat screwdriver on the MT worked fine (I know screwdrivers aren't suppose to be used for that purpose).

A pry bar isnt something I would want on my keychain. I don't like much on my keychain.

YMMV

I modded a few from the hardware store and use them often. I cut off the curved end to make them easier to carry in a pocket/keyring or admin pouch.

They do come in handy for breaking into cars and buildings, also for prying the tacks of shoplifting security tags off clothes.

Lol just kidding.

O ne of our brethern said it just lets us manipulate our enviroment rather than the other way around. Good answer :) Lots of folks here are EMT's or VFD types and along with shears, multitools and knives its just another tool that theres a need for while trying to keep the "pants drooping load o tools" weight down. A quick pop to a car window at an accident, prying at a door jam to check a structure that smoking or just opening a paint can at home with out having to walk all the way back to the garage. A little slip sheath that clips in the pocket or slides on the belt is a nice project for the leathercrafter..makes em handy.

I don't see what the pico bar can do, it's too short to actually pry anything. Seems an SAK screwdriver would be better.

I carry the Buck/Strider Solution in my car door pocket and it works great as both a knife and a pry tool.

I find that the metal stamped keychain bottle openers, tho ones with the hole in them make good: screwdrivers, light pry bars for paint cans and such, scraper, For picking mud or gum or whatever out of my boot lugs, and they arent bad for opening bottles either.

I have one of the small Atwood Widgies on me today. It fits nicely in the watch pocket.
