Gun law info needed.

Best thing to do is contact the PA and WV State Police by phone. I wanted to travel to Upstate NY with some .22 rifles. I called the state and got the answer. Not the one I wanted but it was quick and not second hand.

I have transported through Ohio into WV and their laws are very similar to MI. As GotDogs said, not loaded, cased, in trunk, ammo separate.

What problem did you have with 22 rifles? I suppose if it was a newer 10/22 with a collapsible stock.

Cops are often useless for gun info. I hunted with a cop who had an illegal "assault rifle" and didn't know it. No big deal for him, but if his wife took his truck...
I saw a cop tell a dealer at a gun show that new 17 round glock mags were legal
The state police firearms unit is usually okay, but calling some random cop on the phone?

They are, unless you live in a handful of very restrictive states.

USA Carry is the best resource for gun laws nationwide that I've found. You'll have to do a little digging to find the specific info you're looking for, but it's there.

Here's the Traveling With Handguns sub-forum.

Traveling With Long guns is here.

New Jersey-specific discussion here.

West Virginia laws discussed here.

And Pennsylvania laws discussed here.

You should be able to find any information you need to transport firearms of any description with those few links, though you will have to sift through a bunch of threads unrelated to the info you're looking for. It's there though.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was looking for.
