Gun owners - was this a good deal?

I personally would take an H&K over a Glock anyday. Had a 17, loved it and sold it. Had a USP loved it more and kept it longer before selling. Got a Kimber now and its my favorite. I am not selling this one, however I am thinking about picking up another H&K. Good deal IMO

As a 1911 freak, I don't like semi-auto pistols w/o visible hammers. Besides, I can only barely get two fingers around a glock grip.

Ichabod, if you're using commercial cast bullets, check out Oregon Trail bullets:
<www.laser-cast.com/>

They use waste from an old mine that has enough silver in the lead to prevent lead build up in barrels. I used 200 grain major loads at 1000+ fps shooting steel in Nevada and almost never had to remove lead from the barrel. I was shooting 300-400 rounds per week at the time.

You did just fine. The HKs will run forever. The Glock .40s have a history of firing out of battery, which I gather is quite exciting when it happens. There have been several of these incidents recently reported by LE agencies. There have been other problems with the 9mms, but no explosions.

For those who want to flame roast me, I own neither one. Don't like Glocks, and the size of the USP makes me think I could carry an MP5K instead.

Shgeo,

Thanks for the tip. I don't usually buy commercial cast; when I bought the Marlin Guide Gun, I asked for freebies. I got a box of 300 grain cartridges and a few bucks off of the cast bullets, or vice versa.

I'm not at home now, but I think the box of 500 I got was from Laser Cast. They are the exact profile 405 grain slug I will be casting for myself.

This idea of silver is new to me; I just saw an advertisement in a gun magazine. I figured if it was really silver, the content must be low. I use the traditional lead, arsenic, antimony and tin. I've been doing it for so long that I mix 'by eye.'

I have two 42 pound pigs of lino I got from an old printer; I was saving them for use in a rifle. Now is my chance. I'm hoping for more than 1,000 fps.

Dang, I'm just a little gal but havent' had any problem with the grip on any of my glocks but then again I havn't had the luxury of handling that many differant brands. But my motto is if you don't like something and can trade for something you like then it is a good trade.
