What line of work are you in that you use the MP5? I do PSD for the Army and we just switched from the MP5 to the M4. MP5 was always a blast at ranges, but I feel far more confident with the M4.

I work for the Mexican federal government.

I do a lot of close protection work, but do carry the MP5 on some anti narcotic ops I’m called out to down here, i have never felt under armed with it (Familiarity, proficiency and shot placement are key to any combat weapon). I learned on this weapons platform, I have shot thousands of rounds trough that thing, I just really love it. I do carry an HKG36 when distance and open areas are more of a concern. We did carry M4 carbines but switched to the G36 last year, we never looked back.

A superior riffle in my humble opinion, the only thing I would change is the magazine, the coupling mechanism they have makes them a pain in the as to properly carry in a magazine pouch.

We have some guys that still carry the venerable HK G3 and AR 15 platforms, but they are slowly switching out.

Wish I could figure out how to take decent photos. I usually have to make up for it by making them funny, or making sure my guns are inherently awesome, or something. :p

accessory-1.jpg

Anything put on an accessory rail is guaranteed to be useful and practical.

mk40.jpg

Sorta my EDC.

RPK.jpg

Sold this one after finally noticing that a 16 pound AK-type rifle isn't very useful in semi-auto. I could sometimes get some people at the range to laugh by telling them it was the Russian "designated marksman rifle," though. And by telling them about how I got my thumb stuck in the stock for almost 5 minutes, once.

newstuff.jpg

Everyone needs an M4gery. I've since added a Wounded Warrior Project ribbon tied around the grenade launcher cutout, but I think everything else in that photo is up-to-date.

serbu3.jpg

I think a Serbu Super Shorty plus really atrocious white balance are kind of my calling card.

serbu5.jpg

I was tired of people asking why I put a scope on a sawed-off shotgun with a 6.5" barrel. Because there's no front sight, duuuuuhhhh! :p And don't worry, folks, it's a registered AOW, so adding a VFG is legal!

serbu4.jpg

Also because this didn't work as well as I'd hoped. I'm kind of tempted to try and find some really cheap rail-mounted AR front and rear sights, also just for laughs.

slugs.jpg

But in seriousness, this is why I put a scope on it. 3 slugs, 12 yards. The slugs in the first picture apparently weren't a big enough clue. I probably shoot slugs over 75% of the time, so it does need something to aim it.

ul-tac.jpg

Every rail-mounted thing I own. That one guy's AR may have quantity, but you have to admit, mine has efficiency. That's a lot of crap for a single 5" rail, with everything securely mounted.

serbuuu.jpg

Recently added a single-point sling, just for S&G. Can you tell what gun is my favorite?

italians.jpg

Finally a change of pace: My two Italian guns. This one guy got really offended one time, when I referred to the Pedersoli Lupara (I refuse to call it a Howdah Pistol :p) as my only "Italian shotgun," because he apparently missed the part where it was made in Italy. On a related note, if anyone notices this question, do you know what Italy's black powder laws and sawed-off shotgun laws are like? I would bet the Pedersoli Lupara is intended primarily for the Italian home defense market, and they also sell it here because not selling a gun to Americans is like throwing away money. And that "Howdah Pistol" is just a BS PC name, I doubt they'd be able to actually call it what it is, without people complaining.

I should take more pics of the Mateba, but mirror-polished nickel is really hard to photograph, and it always ends up looking like it's next to a campfire or a glacier or something.

Some more old Serbu ones, since all the cool kids love Super Shorties. ;) This time a couple "demotivators" I made awhile ago.

With two different colors of shadow. Have to love mixed lighting, crappy camera, and someone who has no idea how to use anything other than automatic white balance.

There's a funny story that inspired that one, too. I had the original Mossberg grip on it at the time, rather than the Pach in the photo. 2 shooting buddies, one ex-Army, the other ex-Marine Corps.

Me: "Hey, I dare you guys to shoot a Remington Buckhammer, 1-3/8 ounce, 3" magnum, one-handed."
Soldier: "No way. You'd have to be a Marine to do that."
Marine: "Yes, you would. Gimme that thing."
Serbu: "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!"
Marine puts the gun down on the shooting bench, gently so as not to scratch the finish, even though it's a Mossberg, then grabs his hand and raises it over his head, and starts slowly turning around in a circle.
Marine: "AH, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFruitbats!"
Soldier: "I stand by what I said earlier."
Marine: "ME TOO! Ow."

God bless everyone who's been in the military!

Also with a different caption.

feather.jpg

And then while the camera was out and the gun hadn't fallen over yet, I just had to switch the ammo and take another photo (with different white balance, of course). A bit more self-explanatory, though I should've made it say "that shoots out ponies and puppies." Maybe one of these days I'll dig out the box of Featherlights (still haven't shot any from that box, and didn't even notice until recently that every single shell has a picture of a feather on it!), and maybe buy some My Little Pony things, and redo that one.

Oh, and in seriousness, those shells are excellent for introducing a new shooter to shotgunning. The kick is about like an SKS, in a 12 gauge. Maybe like a .44 mag lever action with moderately hot ammo, in 20 gauge (same about of shot and velocity, lighter gun). And it's possible to actually hit stuff, unlike a .410, and they're pretty cheap, unlike 28 gauge. Though on clays, they'll sometimes just kinda start tumbling, instead of breaking. In the Serbu, recoil is about like shooting a .44 magnum "mare's leg." Wish I'd picked up the hulls to see there were feathers on them, though, but some guy wanted 'em, I didn't reload shotshells at the time, and he was saving me the trouble of picking them up.

Hey Viva la, that 45 makes me think of the hitman series twin hardballers, I wonder if that was partial inspiration.

On another note, I had a stack of all the JTHM comics but im pretty sure most members here have no idea what your avatar actual is. My sister ended up with those and my sandman series, at some point I will replace them.

Federales?

My new EDC setup (super carry pro). I was worried after the reviews I read online especially after waiting for 6 months for it to come in. I took it to the range twice over the last month. The first time I ran 250 rounds through it and had 3 failures to go into battery. Before I made the second trip to the range I snagged a few new wilson mags and a wolff spring and swapped them out. I shot 300 flawless rounds the second trip to the range needless to say I love this 45 now and trust it for carry. I got lazy on the break-in and was just point shooting most of the time trying to rush through so I had time to shoot my AR. I also had VZ cut a set of carbon fiber 320s for it. They came out awesome and look much better in person than my silly iPhone pictures. The bobtail feels great in the hand. So if anyone is on the fence on the super carry mine turned out great. These models also lack the Schwartz safety which is a bonus for most people who hated them in the series IIs. I think my ultra covert may find a new home now :) One word of advise is ditch the kimpro mag that comes with it and go with something that has a plastic follow to keep from damaging the aluminum frame. I picked up wilson mags but any of the other top lines have plastic follower models as well.
