I held one of the 52's at a gun shop in Montana back around 1984, and loved it. Took me a while to finally get the concept of using a revolver cartridge in an auto. My first introduction in the not-so-subtle differences in ammunition. (9mm Luger - 9mm Mauser - 9mm Largo - .38 Super - .38 wadcutter.) I've always liked the model 52's style of grip frame, it fits my hand much better. I might have to put that one on my long-term want-list. ~Chris
Man, so many great pics of so many great guns. This has surely been 15 minutes of the best time I have wasted all week. Bring on some more!
OK,,,, the ratio of tactical rigs to hunting rigs is getting way out of skew here so I'll try to level the playing field a little. I've got lots more but even though we all know that there's bound to be some blood involved in hunting, I'm not sure how much this site will tolerate. Charlie
My humble collection of walking varminters. 222Rem that I recently put togeather. (Rem 700) 17Rem (Rem 700) 17Rem FireBall (CZ527) 17 Ackley Hornet (Cooper M38) Couple of scatter guns. Merkle 20ga Rizzini 16ga Thanks for looking. Charlie
Yep,,, second biggest I've ever taken. Stretched 42" but he was skinny. Only weighed 29# Had a pretty nice belly. The other one (on the tailgate with the S&W revolver) was actually my biggest. Stretched 43" and weighed 38#. Treed by that little 37# Cur Dog. Here's a pic of it on the way to the fur buyer, along with a nice female that had a spectacular belly. I'm blessed to live in a Cat rich area and have acces to land that nobody else runs Dogs. I'd rather hunt Cats than eat but unfortunatly I'm getting a little old for it. We still catch one or two every winter though. Not bad for a 62yo foot hunter Eah? Charlie
What do does things usually feed on? I have seen a few of does in northern Mexico, but usually just a glimpse, not many left I think.
When I want to find Cats, I look for Rabbits. They eat birds and even Deer, but their main-stay is Rabbits. Here's something to think about though. We're getting pretty far off topic now, so I'll stop now, but I'd be happy to start a new thread in the Hunting and Fishing forum if you're interested. I have tons of BobCat stuff for your viewing pleasure. Charlie
Rock River AR15 (NY compliant, of course.) Just picked up the upper today, from the same guy I bought the lower from at a gun show earlier this month. lol
