In the spirit of John asking for different thread ideas I thought it would be nice to talk about some of our guns. I know often the knife hobby usually goes hand in hand with the gun hobby, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

In this thread please post pics of your firearms, thoughts on different guns, things you love about certain guns, things you hate, recommendations, etc. Basically everything gun related! I'll kick it off pics of a couple of mine...

Have a few .22s but my new SW AR22 (MP15-22) is by far my favorite. It's a blast to shoot and it helps to keep ammo costs down. Unfortunately, I think all I did was whet my appetite for an AR in .223/5.56...That baby will be a work in progress as I have other financial obligations coming down the pipeline.

My only handgun is my walther ppq in 9mm. I LOVE this gun. It's a tac-driver, super reliable, a breeze to clean, and the ergos are fantastic. For some reason I can't get used to the Glock platform, something just doesn't fit right...Anyway, these are my "other" toys! Let's hear and see some of yours!

Oh, and down the road my wishlist looks generally like this...
1) remington 870 tactical express
2) a SW revolver (yet to be decided)
3) an AR15 build
4) 1911

Here are most of mine. Not shown are a Beretta .25 and a Mossberg .22 bolt action that were my Dad`s, and my Remington 870 riot gun.

First up is a Springfield XD9 Tactical and Scout Jr.

Next is a custom Glock 17 and my old EDC. The Glock has it`s frame shortened to Model 19 specs, and Heinie Straight Eight sights. The work was done by me.

Next is S&W 629 3" .44 Magnum with a 7" Camp Knife. This is my "House Gun", shown with the Winchester .44 Special Silvertips I keep it loaded with.

This is my favorite, Kimber first year production .45 ACP, with a Keychain Companion. I`ve put a steel backstrap, Wilson trigger, titanium firing pin, and Ed Brown slide stop in it. It has never malfunctioned on me. Connie bought me this one for our 10th anniversary.

And one more of my Bowie shown with an original Remington derringer in .41 rimfire, and the "Dead Man`s Hand" of aces and eights.

Damn John! Nice collection! I would hate to be the guy that runs into you and your "home" gun in the middle of the night! Love that revolver! Also the kimber, that thing is mighty nice, good for you to have such a great wife!

How do you like the glocks? Do you shoot any other polymer platforms? I'm trying to figure out why I didn't mesh with them. I think it was the trigger guard and grip angle...

Cool mods on the 17 btw, looks factory!! Which gun are you most accurate with? Which do you shoot most?

Glocks are OK, I gave mine to my wife, (after I rounded the trigger guard).I prefer the XD, it`s a polymer frame, but feels like a 1911 in hand. I shoot the Kimber better than anything else, with the .44 second. My daughter carries a Glock 22, and a Glock 27 (both .40 caliber), and is scary good with them!

Custom AR-15 5.56 Rock River Arms Lower with Match Grade trigger assembly and adjustable stock. I picked the Eotech holographic sight, and although the piece has a lot more range than the Eotech belies, it is a HOOT at the range at 100 yards.

Here is my favorite CCW (for those times when I am out of Shillinois) - A Kimber Ultra Refined Carry Pistol II from the custom shop - it has the full carry melt treatment and it is a real fun piece to throw some 230 grain 45 acp downrange.

My S&W Magnum .500 Performance Center special, with my JK Custom Combat special in Maple Burl with extended tang. Both are overkill and I love them both!

Here is a shot of two big boys - the .500 and my JK Gambler's Bowie - more overkill, but this pair goes to 11.

I had to throw in Noah's custom Apocalyptic Sheath that he made for my Bowie - the man does some nice work!

My JK Friction Folder #1 with my Glock 23 .40 - The Glock makes a nice home defense piece or a CCW -

Nice stuff man!!! What upper are you running on your ar? I would love to heck out an eotech but for my ar22 I figured the $100 pa m3 clone was about as pricey as I wanted to get. Do you hunt with that 500? That thing looks like a beast...you sure are prepared for pretty much anything between your firearms and JKs!

How is the kimber with recoil btw??

Thanks! I have a White Oak Armament 18" Varmiter upper - its a little heavy but it is accurate as I can be. Plus the gun is all Illinois made.

I have not done any hunting with the 500 - if I did I would go with a scope I think.

The Kimber is not too bad - it has a little kick to it as you would imagine, but I think it is less than the Glock with the .40 - I love to run the Kimber.

I don't need another hobby sucking up my....damn those pictures do look nice though, don't they...:p

Nice stuff C Bryant! That para is beautiful! I feel like a 1911 is creeping up my list FAST!

Mq- everyone who owns a kimber swears by them. I'll have to find one to shoot to see if I can convince the woman that I need one! Might have to drop some hints about an early birthday present to the family...

Can you order those direct from kimber or do you have to run through a dealer? I'm finding the market pretty dry for variety in 1911s and such these days

I LOVE that para. Such a smooth action. My dad has a Kimber, and I have to say I don't know if I could choose between the two. I like them both a lot.

Hahaha I felt the same way. I thought my knife hobby was bad, imagine how many JKs you could buy with what 1 AR or 1911 costs!! You should take advantage of living in Kentucky and the broad carry laws. I live in Marylandistan and can only hope for the day when we go to shall issue for ccw...

Awesome pictures and pieces Mr. Bryant - I really like wheel guns - and I have a couple that are not represented here.

I will take some more shots of stuff that is not here - with other models of my JK collection.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone photos. Lots of good looking guns and knives here. Thanks everyone for sharing.

Ossa those are some NICE looking firearms. I almost regret starting this thread, my wish list has expanded in the last few days! I think I've decided that when I do get a 1911, it will most definitely be 2-tone. I just love the look of them

Thunderous: if you're referring to the hawk in my pic then it's called the Cassam Tactical Hawk and is made by JK. I designed it and am the proud owner of #1. It is truly a beast of a hawk! If you search johns forum there is a whole thread about it if you're looking for more pics and reviews!

Thanks, The two tone on my Kimber is because the frame is alloy and the slide is steel. You can have two tone done to all steel guns. That gets expensive, best to buy a stainless frame with blue slide.
