Gun show find

I love going to gun shows even though the guns and ammo are usually way over priced. I at least get to look at the guns and I can usually find a good deal on a knife or two.

I went to a local one yesterday and came home with this for $10. It's a hand forged bolo (just in case you missed the giant stamp) made in Japan in the mid 1940s.

I've been looking for a big chopper, longer than my 10" knives but shorter than my 18" machetes. This one has a 14.25" blade and is .18" thick. It feels very solid and has a nice forward weight while still retaining great balance.

that's really cool! I love blades with some history. $10 too eh? man you would prob pay more just for shipping on a new one. good score

Congrats, that is a cool blade! Looks it will be great to use and a great Why can't I make finds like that at gun shows???

I have one just like that just a little more used. Good chopper for bigger stuff, it will wear you out on smaller brush.
