Beckerheads,

I went to the gun show here this weekend, and know that it is a pretty good size show at that. My big problem is that even with a few knife only venders, several tables, NOT ONE BECKER!!!! maybe I missed a stray one hidden somewhere but definatly no displays. The only saving grace was the Busse booth. Only thing I walked out with was some expensive paracord and a cool firestarter. What is tbs crazy world coming too.

I dunno. Most "street vendors" are starting to sell little cheapo knives that cost $5 to make and sell them for $15 and say, "Oh, look at this great knife for this amazing price. You should buy that, it is very functional!" WE NEED TO EDUCATE THE MASSES TO STOP BUYING CHEAPO KNIVES!!

oh and first reply :D

It amazes me how these guys make money, like 5 tables of little crap knives and a few cold steel, sogs, and a row of 5-6 Ka-bars with military commerative blades. But they seem busy. Different strokes I guess..one man's crap is another man's Christmas.

Don't think I've ever seen a Becker at one of our local gun shows - mostly crapola. There was a Busse booth at the last one though - that was pretty cool.

That's exactly what I saw at a local gunshow this weekend. Most of the knife tables were covered with cheap crap from China, with an ocassional Benchmade, SOG, or Spyderco. I saw one Becker BK-7 that had been modified with a choil for a finger in front of the handle. He wanted $85 for it, but I just got a new BK-7 last week. At least that vendor seemed to know a little about knives, most of the others didn't. We talked about the Benchmade Emerson 975's for awhile. I have a couple of them and always on the lookout for more.

My wife always wonders why I spend so much on knives when there are all these great looking Chinese knives for $10. They must be the same, right?

I've seen a few Beckers at shows, but they were all way over priced. (BK2 for $100)

Maybe, being the best value out there and an outstanding product, they were already sold out by the time you showed up? Maybe.

I agree, even dealers do the same thing. My local Kabar dealer has only 2 beckers a bk3 and bk7. Both cost $120. I asked them if they knew competitors and internet pricing and they said "huh?" I like mom and pop shops and I'm always down for supporting local businesses but when your ripping me off and pretend not to know it, well that's when my dollar goes elsewhere

Be lucky you have something decent knifewise at gun shows. Gun shows here have nothing but chinese crap and old bayonets.

I was talking with Spark last week, and one of the topics that came up, was a 30yr old knife company, that has some great designs, great prices, good quality, USA made, and backed by some good CS. Why haven't we heard of them before?

BKT, yup, we had a laff, but its true. Only in the last year has the BKT come on the scene full force, and its growing, daily. Imagine what it will be like in another year. You'll wind up going to a BKT show and they have some cheap Chinese guns there. :D

Its been a hard road, but its getting smoother.

More power to ya, the ones I've seen (and refused to shoot) had pins popping out after a mag or 2.
If they work for you, great! I personally can't shoot a gun that I have seen literally fall apart in battery.
Granted, i've only seen 2 old ones shot, quality might be better now

i dont know bout that, Norinko AK's are pretty good, considered top shelf. Worst thing i ever did was sell mine, that thing ran like a train........check the prices that they are going for now, its ridiculous

Personally I'm goin for a WASR 10/63 Romanian GP, easy to find, good quality, no mag wobble, built like a tank

Knife forum, lads. I know the topic is gun show, but we need to throw some knives, perhaps, Beckers, in there somewhere.
