Gun show

what we need is someone to CNC a rail mount for a Becker 3 hole pattern :)

there we go. magnum camp bayonet? :>

which reminds me, i want a really nice SKS (yugo? romanian? chine?) and a Finnish Moisin-Nagant (1941/1944)

sources? :)

IMO the best SKSs are the Russian ones, and the Finnish 91/30s are the best. Can't comment on the 41/44, refer to website. They are pretty common, check local gun stores, if you have them. If not, there are some online dealers that can ship to an authorized FFL (gun store)
For info on the Mosin, a good site is www.7.62x54r.net
All the info you could need and more.
When ordering from online, try to pick a site with a decent return/exchange policy, if you are intending to keep the original furniture on the gun. There are still fully functional rifles with screwed up stocks out there, if planning on adding modern stocks, nevermind.

thanks. good to know.

my local dealer is getting a bunch of 91/30 Moisins in... i was hoping for 1944 or 1957 models :) shorter...

good to know on the SKSs... i'll keep an eye out. problem is, everybody wants these now, and my local shop sels out in 20 minutes when he gets them in used, and only slightly slower when new. he's looking for a couple crates of good ones.

I have a 91/30 Russian Izhvesk, it's still a shoulder bruiser at 10 lbs. The carbines must kick like a fricking mule.
Good luck with your search!

I love my mosins, I got the 91 and the 44. And let me tell ya, the 44 is a blast( literally ) to shoot. If you are going to get one, get one now and grab a couple 440 cans of ammo while we still can. Best surplus bolt action deals right now IMHO. Make sure to get a hexagon receiver if possible.

Yeah, those 44s have a fireball almost every shot, don't they?
I got a wierd one, it seems to have started out as a hex reciever, then was milled down to a round one. Hmmm... Mebbe I'm just hallucinating
I got a '43, early WWII made, mebbe mine was a hex at one time.
