Hopefully when the little one grows up, you can go shooting together!

I'm planning on it. Just 7 years and 2 months more before she's old enough to join Dad at the range. I'll start her out on the Ruger 22/45 and my CZ 452. I might pick me up a pellet gun to use in the backyard in the meantime.

Nice T/Cs, Tom! I was actually looking online for .45 Colt, .454 or .460 Encore T/C setup yesterday. I have at least 800 rounds of stoutish (260 SJHP @ 1200 fps) .45 Colt ammo, and the only Colt I have is a nice Model 25 that I wouldn't risk with loads that hot.

I should have a Rossi 7.62x39mm inbound tomorrow. I've been wanting a bolt or single-shot Russian Short for a while, and I figure it'll make a great girlfriend gun. She knows how to shoot rifles from the service, but has never been hunting. .223 isn't legal for deer in VA, and the next-smallest caliber I have is .303 or .308- the .303 is one of the last, "Irish" SMLEs, so it's heavy, and the .308 is a SPR-type FAL, so it's even heavier! :D

spectre is that one of the unissued irish contract enfields ? if so..i have one also and you may want to reconsider dragging it through the woods..the prices on those are on the up and up

Hi John,

7.62X39 in a single shot would be sweet! cheap ammo, but a very useful cartridge.

Now, the typical midwinter blues are setting in, as perhaps some guns get shipped off to pay heating bills, etc.

The endless cycle! Someday, I will either have more money, or more self discipline.
