So I was carving some oak with my Skyline and this residue built up on it ! What should i do?
I would prefer to avoid any abrasives if at all possible, I don't want to ruin the finish.

Thanks, Seth

Goo Gone also works well on tree sap (I'm assuming that's the residue on your blade). I've used it to remove juniper/cedar sap from mine. Let it soak a bit, then wipe it off.

Gasoline, Kerosene, Alchohol, lighter fluid, acetone, paint thinner, wd-40, break cleaner, goobegone and many many more solvents should have an effect.

Let's not forget...MEK...its what I use. Just dont get it on you or your hands.

All of the above as well as Acetone. So, whatever you have. From the list you probably have a choice.

Nether WD-40 or acetone worked for me. Guess i'll have to wait 'till it's gunked again to try anything else.
