Guns are fun... and CABS are just downright cool! What's your favorite shooter?

Hung out with Baer, Brown and Browning a couple of weeks back and threw about 500 rounds down range and a bit of aiming fluid down my throat. While I love to make beer cans dance it's just too easy with these pistols, so I've gone to bottle caps. Fun stuff! (and readily available). These are my favorite shooters... sexy and fun but at the end of the day they are all about business.

I must praise Jerry and the Busse crew for the CABS. It may be the finest small blade they have ever produced. It really is a piece of art. I did some spotlighting, hoping to kill a hog to baptize the blade properly... but only killed a couple skunks
(not from Idaho). And, well... since skinning skunk ain't my thing the blade remains pristine.

BTW... what about you guys... what are your favorite guns to shoot?

.

My accumark 257 wby and ruger hawkeye 35 whelen are at the top of my list. For handguns I enjoy shooting the sig p220.

How do you like that sellier & bellot? I bought out a gunshop of it when they had it for 6$ a box. I ended up liking (or my pistols did) American Eagle for target rounds.

Oddly, my favorite rifle to shoot is an old Savage 17hmr with a heavy barrel, bipod and Nikon Monarch Gold UCC 3-9. It is an awesome old setup and not too loud:)

My Kimber Custom II 1911 is pretty damn fun.

But, I love to shoot my S&W 41 magnum, and my Blackhawk in 45 Colt.

And the AR 308 is a blast, 870s are fun too.

There's too many choices.

But, I guess final vote is for the 1911 :D

Good stuff. They've been making it since 1825. It shoots clean and accurately. I'd put in on par with WWB or Federal's American Eagle stuff any day. I buy the stuff by the case. :D

Generally you can find it at a pretty good price, too.

My new sweetie is a S&W 1911 Pro Sub-compact. I put some thin VZ green Gators on her, now she is good to go :)

I love my CABS too. Gonna pair it up with my HHFSH for camping.

Probably the most fun gun. (Traded this to get into my first Infi!!!!)
Th fireball from this is about 3 feet across in the dark. Phenomenal!

Got traded for this (with another custom, that latter got traded for more infi)

.356 model 66 from my grandpa! With a spurless Ruger sp101 .357.

.30 carbine is a real tack driver, and pretty loud (excuse the horrible pic).

But my favorite shooter. By far gets the most grins is my old .22 Ruger MarkI. I bought this when I was a kid, about 17 years ago, and have put somewhere between 30,000 to 40,000 rounds through it, and it is still going strong. I bought it well used as a kid. I finally need to fix something on it (a cross pin inside the mainspring housing has wiggled loose, and is preventing me from fully disassembling it for cleaning).

This was the only old pic I could find, without digging it out and snapping a pic.

Handgun: Smith and Wesson 460V (I don't like shooting the heavy stuff, but shooting 45LC is a BLAST to shoot)

Centerfire: Rem 700CDL SF in .257 Weatherby Mag = fast stepping bullet

Rimfire: Ruger in .17HMR This one is the most fun to shoot. I can hit grey diggers out to 150 yards no problem... unless there's a breeze.

If I had to only have one gun to do it all, it'd be my R-25 in .243 Win. There's something about a semi-auto .243 win that makes me smile.

It must have just been my old Colt that didn't like it. I shoot their skeet rounds by the case. Great stuff.

Man... This is why I just love the Busse forum! You guys have some incredibly cool gear...

Keep the cool pics coming.... and pardon me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.

Well, my favs are Baer TRS (in .45)
