Here is that AR I just got with my beloved Cross Hair Regular! I also threw in a Laconico for good measure!

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to breakdown and get a MKIII. Getting hard to find parts for this one. Somehow I broke the hammer pin and have ordered 3 that were supposedly made for this one and they were all too short so I assumed they were for the MKIII. I finally took a drill bit, cut it to size and then cut a grove in it for the spring, so far so good. It does have a MKIII upper on it so I guess I'm halfway there. :)
All you gun crazies out there please note: Ruger 22 MkIIs (which I presume are not much different from MkIs and Mk IIIs) look, handle and shoot great but are downright "Rube Goldberg" contraptions if ever you have to service them. I have owned and well used a MkII for 30+ years and will not buy another nor ever trust my life on that one being totally reliable. Bolts and break-actions and revolvers are the only way to go, if you're not into believing Hollywood movies where the good or bad guy never has to reload for 100s of rounds of non-stop blasting and the piece he's using refuses to malfunction.

I respectfully disagree with what you're saying. My Ruger has been the most reliable of my 22's. I have many; including revolvers. I am competent with the system and able to dis, then re-assemble without problems. I don't believe any movie or Hollywood; I believe the reliability I built with the rounds I have through it (probably 5k or so). Also, mine is a suppressor host; revolvers don't work for this (except the nagant). Lastly, If I am relying on my .22lr in a life and death situation; things are already not working the way I planned.

I assume he was stirring up the pot so I wouldn't respond. I don't know why he was assuming everything we own is for self defense.

Thanks. Its a 1970's (the supposed year going by numbers doesn't match family history) browning BL-22. It belonged to my uncle (my fathers baby brother) who was killed by a DUI trash truck driver at 24, I'm named after him and when I turned 24 it was given to me. Its extra special cause just a year later my dad died. I also have a really old mossberg semi-auto .22LR, a 151m (A) that was my dads grandpa's (died before I was born) and my dads 1911 that I got when he died that go along with the browning as family heirlooms.

The mossberg and 1911 don't get much use but the BL-22 is my favorite gun to shoot, its nothing like a 30rnd mag dump in my AR but its the most enjoyable gun I have to take to the range and plink, I also use it for small game hunting and even use .22 short CB's for pest control at the barn. Its extremely accurate. The front sight is a custom piece I milled myself and added a tritium insert cause I refuse to put any sort of optic on it.

Nice levergun Cereal_killer! I think guns that come from family are the most important ones. I have a Fox/Savage double 20 from my paternal grandfather, a Winchester 94 30-30 from my maternal grandfather, and my little brothers Beretta 92 Inox. I absolutely prize those guns; they are the most protected in the safe even though they are the least monetarily valuable. I never cared for Berettas; I had experience with them before and just didn't care for them. I know how proud my brother was to have saved up for it and finally got it. We used to go shooting when I was home on leave and he would peacock around with it, HA! It's one of my favorite guns to shoot now, it's almost like spending time with him when I do. I miss that kid.

That's a nice combo Easyrider! I had a 38 Special like that many many moons ago. Great revolver!

Been meaning to add to this thread. I'll add more as I get to it. This one is much older than it looks and about 13/14 years older than myself.
