Gunting vs. Chinook

Sorry it's taken me a little while to get back again. The ramp can also be used for raking/ scraping ( as can then horn.) The ramp is also used to assist you in joint manipulation and finger locking. Those serrations on the ramp just don't let go. Well unless you want them to..... As for the ramp through the fingers question? Yes it can be used this way but to strike with the butt or horns of the Gunting. It can also be held this way to use the back of the handle for the purpose of locking up your opponent. The curve of the back of the handle I'm pretty sure was designed with the principals of Small Circle Jujitsu in mind so when used on your opponent it brings towards you and to your feet. Hope this is useful

While typing this I cut myself on my chinook :o while testing the blade play. On mine it seems to be non existent. I love my chinook (Semi-serated) but don't find it as usefull as an EDC as it scares the hell out of my collegues. It's really sturdy knife, very useful ergonomics and a very tough cutter. Don't think you can go wrong with this one in a self-defence situation either although I prefer my Police or SOG X-ray vision for an EDC.

I'll take the Gunting!I like options,I can use it open or closed, don't need a swithblade,G opens quickly without a button.I like to use it closed, also use it for everyday cutting. No other knife gives me so many options. Thanks Bram.
