Here is a recipe for Curry from a piper in the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Gurkha Rifles. There are several ways Gurkhas like to eat curry and Im told there is no single GURKHA CURRY recipe. So here is Recipe #1
Ingredients Needed:
Chicken, Pork, or Prawns
Curry paste (several types available, Patak's Hot Curry paste is what I have been using)
Two large tomatoes
Two medium onions.
(puree peeled oinions and tomatoes together)
1 Handfull of Corriander.
Chiles to taste (a lot of options here, the hotter the more a Gurkha likes it!!)
Heat Curry paste in a pan with oil then add meat until cooked.
2. Pour in onion/tomato puree and add chiles (diced)
3. Cook around 30min or so.
4.Add corriander and save some for garnish after cooking.
5.Add mushrooms if desired
Serve with steamed Basmati rice

This is a simple recipe but it is quite tasty when cooked correctly. This recipe is similar to basic Indian Curry. Hope any one who tries this finds it very tasty.

Sgt D I imagine a good Gurkha curry would be just what you need where you are. Let me know if you need any more information. Ron
