Gurkha Kukri Plus - Inside of sheath covered in grease

Hi Guys,

I received a very nice Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri Plus today, I was under the impression that it was supposed to come wrapped in cardboard due to the corrosion resistant grease it comes coated in however annoyingly it came sitting in its sheath, meaning the inside of the sheath is covered in the grease.

I have emailed the retailer but with no reply expected until Monday I am wondering...is there a way I can easily clean the grease from the inside of the sheath or is it going to cause me problems?

In a similar situation, I used a ruler wrapped in paper towels - until the towels came out clean.

put a quarter cup of Dawn dishwashing liquid in a sink or container big enough to submerge the sheath. Fill with hot water and let soak overnight. Agitate it several times during the soak and before you take it out. Rinse with hot water from the faucet and air dry. Works great!
