Gurkhas and the Brits

I heard yesterday the British Parliament was considering offering the Gurkhas citizenship for their service in Iraq? Anyone else heard anything?

So yes there are gurkhas in Iraq, at least there were.

There are Gurkhas in Iraq, Afganistan and just about everywhere else the British army is serving. They are the best regular infantry (i.e. not including special forces, marines and paras) out there, not the kind of people you want to leave behind.

It is in the papers today that the Gurkhas who serve this country will be allowed to settle here.

only gurkhas discharged since 1997 are eligible at the moment, thats about 75%, the remaining 25% still face expulsion from the UK as reward for their years of defending us.
