Received a knife I yesterday from Gus that I had spoken with him about in chat. Lets just say that he cut me one hell of a deal :D , I owe ya big time Gus.

Its common knowledge to most that Gus is a class act. I just wanted to thank him very much, hes really one of the truely good guys.

From my earliest posts here Gus has treated me as a friend, better than that as a fellow knifenut and his equal. There's no way I can measure up to this man, in his knowledge and his kindness. I'm just glad he lets me call him a friend.

Thanks Gus.

I've had the honor and pleasure of calling Gus "friend" for a few years now. Though most of the year we communicate by email and phone, each year we get to spend a little quality time in Atlanta amongst other friends and the objects we enjoy so much.

I'd be hard pressed to name a better soul than Gus.

Gus definitely ranks among the top few who I highly respect here on the forums, definitely a fine human being. He is living proof that the hobby of knife collecting extends far beyond just the knives themselves, but encompasses the folks who share in this passion of ours.

But somehow, he strikes fear in goats everywhere :p :D

Please, Keep Him Away From Me!!!!

Great guy. He helped Neil Blackwood design a custom stellite kayak/canoe river knife I wanted and then let me get it before him.
A gentleman and a scholar :D

I met Gus a few years ago through a mutual freund of ours. I consider Gus a great friend and a very knowledgeable knife collector. His integrity and honesty is without question. Not sure if I would let him babysit my pet goat, but who knows?

Awe shucks.

Thanks folks. Your words mean a lot even if they are dellusional :D.
Get that darn sheep outa here.

You all can say what you want about Gus, but I have to work with the guy and let me tell you...working with someone who lives with a herd of goats and a dog is not a pleasant thought or smell. Not so bad when you stand downwind. If you are from the Atlanta area, you might remember the "Goat Man". He had a little cart pulled by goats and spent his time walking around the state and sleeping in the woods. That was Gus' hero! Now Gus just has to explain to his girlfriend about how they are going to take their vacations...! He walks around all day yelling "Gee" and "Ha"..guess that is a carry over from telling the goats to go left or right.

A true gentleman. Honest as they come, a MAN of his word and one of MY friends......wolf:D :D :D ;)

BUT...once you do lamb, you can never do GOATS...and I wanna be a BASTID!!!!!!!

I respect Gus a tremendous amount. Awhile ago when Gus decided that he had had enough of being a moderator here I was extremely saddened. The fact that he changed his mind and only took a break was a great relief to me. It is because of people like Gus that I find Bladeforums to be the family that it is.

When someone points out that Gus has done something good or has helped them out, I think to myself, what else would you expect. Thanks for your help with finding those books Gus, and because I don't say it enough, thanks for your efforts on behalf of Bladeforums. It is a much better place because you are part of it.

Edited to clarify something.

If anyone has not met Gus, it's a shame. I hate to say this because he'll probably come running down to my desk and try to hug me...but what a nice guy and all the things written about him doing his good deeds are true! Have a great Christmas and New Year's Gus...
(Did I say what you wanted me to say Gus..?_
