Looks good. How sharp is the point at the top of the hook?

I believe both the gut hook and finger notch are on the small size. However if they work for the owner, all is good. The knife knife shape is to me a very usable one. The workmanship also looks very good,

Nice knife. The hook looks OK size to me, but I would have carried the finger notch back to directly below the first rivet.


I personally recommend not putting a gut hook on a blade. I would make a hunter just like yours with no hook, and make a separate tool with only the gut hook. Make the handles match. There are so many problems with having a gut hook on a nice knife. The sheath, accidental pokes and cuts, problems in skinning, and keeping it sharp are just a few.
