My first attempt at a guthook. D2 steel, Black Walnut scales. Photo didn't copy scales as clear as they were. This one is sold.
 
cool hunter, I realy don't like gut hooks, but part of that is that they are a pain to do, looks like you pulled it off!

What did you use for finish on the handle? Looks great!

Yes, they are a real pain in the rear to do, I found out. The finish on the handle is Bruce Bump's method of using Tru Oil that has been thinned by 1/3 using mineral spirits.
 
Can somebody please explain how a guthook is used?
(I'n not a hunter unfortunally)
