guy making scissors

東京打ち刃物 (I like it) A lot of skill there. Jess

Wow, that was all very cool. I liked his discerning the tempering temp via sizzling water drops. The board with slots for tweaking and straightening was handy. I'll remember that trick.

Wow, that was awesome to watch the metal shaping. Sure wish I could have understood him though.

Did anyone notice how out of balances the belt grinder looked? It appeared to have about 1/4" wobble in it! Now, I want to see the video of the Chinese Army shovel again!

Anyone know if there is a similar type (quality skill) vid on woodworking gouge making?

I really enjoyed that video. It never occurred to me that any company was still producing handmade scissors.

Here's a link for the finished product. I was a little surprised by the prices (watching the vid provided a lot of needed context), but I've never gone scissor shopping. :)

I would really love to see a youtube video of a Japanese approach to making a woodworking gouge. Does anyone know the translation for keywords "blacksmith & gouge"?
