Guyon I'm calling you out

OK now I'm going to have to show you how much oil I use when I do a biscuit:cool:

Wait I had better see how many infractions I have first.

.

Ok. Made these tonight. Tasted great, but need to be either a bit thicker or I need a bigger "dollop"-they were a bit flat sized.

Don't add too much milk. And check your flour. Fresh self-rising flour makes fluffy biscuits. Old flour... not so much.

I made green biscuits for St. Paddy's day again this year.

And I made some purple ones the other day just for kicks and giggles. My little boy likes 'em in different colors.

Thank you Guyon - I've just impressed my wife with these!

She's been looking after me with my dodgy ankle for weeks, normally I do most of the cooking. Today we've got some sunny weather and are camped in the garden. I wanted to give her a treat to go with her coffee. So I looked up your recipe (got the notebook PC in the garden) and disappeared inside, raided the cupboard and stood on one leg for about 20 minutes...

They came out almost perfect! Just could have done with another half minute in the oven maybe, but nevertheless much tastier than shop-bought versions. First thing I've ever baked, other than loading up the bread machine.

My wife said they were mouthwatering! A fine example of English afternoon tea.

Should ensure a nice treat for me later too ;)

Thank you

Great to hear. Looks like this biscuit thread just keeps on giving.

I wonder if morrowj_98 ever found love with the biscuit.

I wonder if Tony G ever licked that 132 pound biscuit on the counter.

I wonder if Skunk ever got oiled up and drank all his Scotch.

with those lead wings, he sure isn't a dirty nasty leg!:D

now i'm gonna try this recipe!

I have a profound love of the biscuit. The fact that you had to ask this question hurts me greatly. :p

Hi Morrow,
Were you a paratrooper before?

Yes I was.....8 years on Fort Bragg. I went to Airborne school in 1989 and then Jumpmaster school in 1992.

Funny story about airborne school.....at graduation....my parents, sister and grandmother came from Pa. to Ga. to see me do my last jump and then graduate. My father pinned my jump wings on but being a good Marine, he pinned them on upside down.

Thanks for the reply Morrow.
No matter wearing edelweiss or jump wings, paratroopers are group of tougher (if not the toughest) but more obscure people in the military world.

Well...I certainly met a lot of tough guys that were paratroopers. I also met a lot of tough guy that weren't. In the end...it's just way of getting where you need to go. :)

I loved the biscuit and it is cream filled, am I doing it right?

I prefer a little butter, but who am I to determine what another man's love for the biscuit should look like?

morrowj_98, did you ever get the biscuits to rise like you wanted?
