So what's the real deal with the Guyot Designs "Standard" bottle size? Everywhere online lists it as 38oz capacity but the one I've got clearly is the same size as a typical 32oz plastic Nalgene. Even the little tag that came on it when I bought it says 32oz - but on the inside it lists the capacity at 38oz lol! Am I missing something?

And no, it doesn't really matter at all, my OCD is just rearing it's ugly head.. :D

i have run into a similar situation with them. the standard is their 38oz version and it the same as a nalgene.
the "backpacker" model is the 32oz version, and is tapered from top to bottom.
i know this only because i was sent the backpacker accidentally and had to fire it back to recieve the actually 'standard' that is a straight fat bottle. like a nalgene.

atleast this is the impression i have haha. i could be totally wrong.

Both the Guyots I have (one old, one new) are the regular, straight-sided "Standard" and they are both the same dimensions as your typical Nalgene bottle - which I'm pretty sure have always just been 32oz.

They're definitely not the "Backpacker" model with tapered sides..

What's throwing me off is the fact that Guyot "Standards" are listed everywhere as 38oz and even their own packaging says 32oz on one side and 38oz on the other.

FWIW, I think they must be 32oz just like the Nalgenes.

edit: Cpl Punishment - good point, I didn't think of the thickness..you may be correct..

I just checked for ya.

Filled to the shoulder, not topped off, the standard Guyot holds 38oz. ;)
