I have more than enough CRK's. I have a few that I rarely use or carry.

I've had a CRK only mentality about buying or trading knives for at least a year. I've bought

a couple of high end Spydies in the last 1-2 years and don't use the enough to have them.

When I think about buying a new or a used knife on the forums, most(about 90%) the time I don't buy a knife

because I don't think I'll use it enough.

Does anyone with CRK's have the same or similar attitude about buying knives that aren't CRK's.

I hope I'm not the Lone Ranger on this. :D:eek:

I'm not sure I understand...

I had 3 CRKs and never carried one of them so I gave it away. The other two I alternate between occasionally.

I have not bought a (carring) knife in a long time because I won't carry it. Kitchen knives and razors are a different story.

I only have 2 CRK's and I use both. I don't have the desire to buy any other knives.

Yes, I'm in the same boat now. I've become somewhat disdain toward other knives and the ones I now have I probably need to get rid of.

I have a few other brands. Lot's of Bussekins. A few each of Becker; Winkler; Murray Carter, and Kershaw. Some of those are Queens/Collector knives. Some get used. I have four CRK's. One Jereboam II that no longer gets used. Too valuable as a collector piece, and have plenty of others that can be used in its place. Recently got into Sebenzas. Have one collector and a user 21 and 25. That is all. Carry on...;-)

I have one CRK..large 21 insingo double lug. I use it every day at work. On the weekend when I go out I carry my Sage 1. Sometimes I'll swap in the PM2, but the insingo gets work dutry 5 or 6 days a week. For camping or in dirty situations I'll take the Rat 1 in Coyote brown, cheap, strong and easy to use. Only other knives I have are my sodbuster Jr. which has shelf duty 7 days a week because it's not really useful against the competition, and my Buck mini taclite which I retired when I found this forum. I carried that mini taclite for 17 years straight, never swapping it out for any other knife. It still works great and locks up at about 90%. I would like to see how my Sebenza fairs after 17 years.

I don't own a crk because my wife would leave me but I get what your are saying. Once you see and use a higher quality knife it's hard to buy something less. You can't look at other knives the same.

I have two or three that are daily hard users on the farm. The rest of them get carried on days when I'm not working or during special events. I only have a few that are true safe queens. I do have multiples of some of my users so that when they go back for a spa I don't have to be without a knife that I depend on. CRK is now all I carry.

I will buy other knife brands, but it is usually for novelty or to 'collect'. For example; Every time I go on vacation, I buy a knife or a watch at the destination I am at. Not some $5 gas station knife, but a decent little Spyderco, BM or something along those lines. I do this for two reasons; 1) I like to buy knives 2) I know I will NEVER sell it because I am paying full retail (or close to) for it. One the street that $100 knife might be worth $40. Not worth selling. Plus, I always remember what knife I bought where. Kind of fun.

These are the knives I take to other states that I am traveling to. If they are lost or confiscated, it is no big loss.

Great post! I to also have plenty of knives, not necessarily safe queens,Striders,Emerson,BM..etc..then I came back too CRK'S and haven't looked back . I've had plenty of CRK'S in the past but for some reason I sold, traded all.I came back for the umnuum then the 25 and completely fell back in love with the Sebenzas.
I've been looking at the Reate knives just minutes ago, then I saw there made in china, ain't gonna happen.
I'm CRK fan boy from here on out! Since I've had the 25..no other has graced my pocket. .so,will CRK ever try the "new" ball bearing type pivot system?
Happy for now! Great job on the sebenza 25 Chris /Anne!
Sorry for the ramblings friends!

I don't own a crk because my wife would leave me but I get what your are saying. Once you see and use a higher quality knife it's hard to buy something less. You can't look at other knives the same.

On the Purse and High Heel Forum they have a saying, "Happy wife, happy life!".

On the CRK Forum we have a saying "No CRK Knife, what's the point of life?......" the question is, have you made the right choice?.....:p:D

Agee with most here, the rest of my collection has pretty well laid dormant since owning CRK's, they suit my needs and expectations perfectly

I carried and used my 2002 large regular Seb a lot for a while, then set it aside. In 2011 I got an Umnumzaan, but for some reason I didn't warm to it as I had hoped. I recently bought a 2015 small Insingo, and this knife is now my EDC! I really love this little knife, and don't see this one leaving my pocket anytime soon. I also carry a small SAK and a Victorinox Spirit multi-tool on my belt, but the majority of knife duties are handled by my Insingo. There's something about this design that seems just right for me. IMO, CRK really hit a home run with this blade shape.

I don't plan on selling any of my CRKs, though. And it does feel good to be back to carrying and using a CRK.

I'm done buying other knives too. I think.

I just bought a spyderco caly 3.5 carbon fiber, because I always wanted one. But it's no crk.

So I sold 7 of my other knives including a mnandi and got a hinderer 3". It's a nice knife but it's not a crk. It's too big in the pocket unlike my small sebenza's.

So I too am about done buying other brands.

I own different tools for different jobs...

Currently I own about a half dozen knives that aren't CRK's... they get almost no pocket time but are used around the house for certain jobs.

I always, always have a Sebenza in my pocket.

Every year as the weather starts warming up I get a Hinderer and use it on heavy camp trips. 2016 will probably be the start of doing something different just because this year I purchased purchased a Nyala and it will serve me as the Hinderer XM-18 did. As a buff and super charged backup for deep woods camping.

I have yet to pick one up. I see so man people on here talking about CRKs and love them.
No one seems to have the carbon fiber small insigno. Is there a reason for that?
I really love the look and think this would be my first one.

I have no interest in any other knives. I have others, including a Benchmade Adamus 275 for work that I alternate with my Umnumzaan, but my CRK's are the only knives that I use at all. All the others are stored.

Only CRK's for me In Perpetuity. :)

As for other knives.. I had about 15 Spydercos before I ever held a CRK.... I only now have 2 remaining Spydercos and I don't carry them anymore... Lol

It was a long process working my way to the top! I once thought "a $100 knife that's just insane"! Now all I have and carry is CRK. I've sold every other knife off except my CRK's.
I feel better knowing I'm not alone! [emoji10]
