A baby on the way is such a blessing.
My baby is 27 and married a year now.
Since the day she was born it feels like 5 or 6 years, tops.

Parenthood is no walk in the park but there is little else to compare.
They don't call it the miracle of birth for nothing.

Knives, coins, cars… whatever, they are all toys that come and go.

Get out there and rejoice!
Exercise, plan, look forward to being a dad.
There is nothing like it.

Jon, you don't know it yet, but you are about to get the most wonderful gift ever, Fatherhood. Best of luck to you, your girl, and the young one. God Bless..

Thanks everyone. Today I re-read the mess of post I left last night after I was half asleep and pretty out of it. It came out MUCH less light hearted then I intended. I appreciate the serious comments and advice but I am feeling ok and mentally sound. Just needed to rant I guess..

I did not mean to come off as a hopeless drunk man. Wow..

If this is your first kid, you are in for a life change.

Good times , and frustration for sure. But well worth it.

They get dressed up with you for Halloween!

OK, Jon, here's a pretty one, set on it's side, that I think you already commented on once before elsewhere, but I seem to recall you liked it. It looks good in both a side and up/down format, but thought I would just do a change-up for you on it.

Thats great! Thanks for sharing.

Bob, Yeah I like that one and it looks good from that perspective.
Kevin, wasn't expecting that and I love it! Someday I will ask you to see more.
Schilling, yeah that one sure is attractive and the influence is clear.
Eric, that thing is nasty. I can't remember if I commented on it somewhere else but I want it!
Parfums, looks like a great time!

Everyone else, thanks for your comments and pictures. I was really aiming for photos on this thread to perk me up and completely misrepresented my intention with downer b*******.

Jon, have a drink, loosen up a bit, blow off a little steam...things will look up. You will make a great dad. Exciting stuff. Best to you.

Here is Don's Feathered Ivory fighter that I think you really liked:

Joe, you know you're teasing me with that!

Jon, here's a pic of a couple of guys who think you are the stuff! Also, a couple of fancy little folders that I might not have shown you before from my collection (probably did but don't remember). Old school Hanson. The pink pearl was in Don Guild's collection at one point. I hear there's a yellow pearl out there but have not been able to track it down.

I remember when you were exclusively a folder guy. I was trying to get you into fixed blades. We were talking about straight knives at the NY show prior to the Blade where you took delivery of the damascus Hanson. Remember how cool it was when you got it. What year was that? At the show you got a display case and I vividly recall how psyched you were as you and Don set up the knife in the display at his table. Good times! Show that thing off, post it up please.

Chin up! Ain't nothin' but a hill for a climber. You're a climber.

Hey Jon,

I talked about fixed blades and posted folders. I don't own this one but sure as hell wish I knew who does so I could try to pry it loose with a trade or cash. I'd love to have this green one and Joe's paired up in my collection. You're not hiding this one from me in your collection are you?

I don't care for Damascus (and anyone who knows me knows that) but these last two Hansons are to die for, top to bottom.

Rob, I'll keep a close eye on the blue one for you. ;) :D

Rob I need to take a new photo of the orange fighter. I will try to do that soon.

I also lust over the blue crackled ivory hanson fighter shown right above. One of my all time favorites.

No matter how lousy I feel when I go to the Veterans Administration facility I know there are folks with a lot worse issues than I have all around me. When I see a guy with no legs it makes me feel a bit guilty for even showing up. It really hurts when I see 20 somethings that lost limbs in wheelchairs being pushed by family members, knowing they were doing their duty despite the horrors they knew they were going into. Feel fortunate you have hands or fingers to post threads here and you are alive instead of the alternatives! There will always be another blade show coming up so look on the + side rather on the - side

This isn't a cry for help. Just inspiration and eye candy!

Someone called you on that one before me! Dude- DON'T PANIC! The answer is 42. Or something.

Im gonna close this thread and work on shooting photos of things I love. I will be back soon with pictures. Rob keep an eye. Yours is first.

Thanks so much everyone, and most of all to Paul for his wisdom and inspiration.
