I like and carry big folders. A lot of them are Spydies.

I bought a Para w/d2 a couple of years ago....modded the hump on the

back of the handle right after I got it...almost like the Para 2 handle.

I could never get used to the blade/handle ratio...and almost never

carry it because of the blade length.

Anybody else out there that carries a Big Folder(Spyies or others)

with a blade at least 3 1/2" or more that just cant seem to carry a

medium or small knife because of the shorter blade length.

I feel the same way you do man. I just enjoy the heft and ability that comes with a larger folder.

Yes. I edc A military EVERY day (with others thrown into the mix as well, but always a Millie).

I rotate through everything from the teeny to the Big Mommas, depending on what strikes me as groovy. When I do carry Big, I try to go thin, just to save on pocket space. Right now its a Police 3. Long blade, but really thin in the pocket. I have plenty of fatties too, but they don't get much love.

I always carry my military and/or case large stockman. Most of the time i carry both though.

90 percent of the time, Military or Chinook 3 in RFP. Sometimes Superleaf. I do carry either a Bradley, Endura, or Stretch in my LFP.

I started carring my delica 4, know I carry Spyderco Mil, ZT 0301, Cold Steel Espada, ect. I love big folder's.

In my EDC rotation the Para is in the same class as the Caly 3. Anything under 3.5" is "small", and you have to go above 4.5" for a folder to be "large". The Military is the perfect medium.

I EDC a Resilience. I have big hands and don't think I even own a knife with a blade less than 3.5".

After I EDC'd an Endura for a few weeks, all my sub 3" folders started to feel way too short to me. Lately I've been EDCing a Caly 3.5 which seems pretty nice length wise especially considering how slim and small the handle is. Now I don't think I would want to go any smaller than that (3.5 inches) in blade length.

I'm expecting my first Para 2 to be delivered tomorrow. I am a bit concerned about the blade length to handle size ratio on that knife and that kept me from ordering one for a long time. TBH, the blade looks a little short to me, but I haven't actually handled one yet. But the knife gets such rave comments and reviews that I finally decided to try one for myself. But I do wish the blade on the Para 2 was about 3.75 inches instead of 3-7/16ths, (close enough to 3.5 for me, I suppose). I suppose one of these days I'll probably end up getting a Military.

I felt the same way about para. My friend has few of them, so I handled this knife on numerous occasions, but never bought one. But I love Para2. I have one and planning to get new coming sprint as well.
Regarding my EDC: 3.5" blade is my favorite size. Usually I carry Persian and Caly3.5. Sometimes I carry smaller blades, but only in addition to Persian or if I go out of state and have concern about legal restrictions.

of all my Spydies, I think I like my Manix best. Heavy blade, and a decent length. My Border Patrol Serrated Enduras come in second. The only short blade(s) I really like are my G10 Harpy and Tasman Salt.

My new Gayle Bradley and Para Military 2 have both gotten some pocket time. I generally carry no blades smaller than 3.5 inches and they are no exception. So I suppose I too carry larger Spydies.

I EDC my Military's about 95% of the time because I like the blade length and profile.

Unfortunately, IMO, Spyderco doesn't make any knives (except perhaps the Resilience) which I would consider "big".

Some are pretty long, such as the Police, but not since the original Manix was discontinued have they produced a big folder.

I had hopes for the Superleaf, and while it does fill the hand, I don't consider it that big. I don't have a Military, perhaps one of those would fit the bill?

I would love it if Spyderco would come out with a PPT style blade with affordable materials in a 4" + length.

And I still want the old Manix.....!
