Guys That Carry Big Spydies....

I was really thinking about getting a Superleaf....I probably would have

if the choil wasn't on the blade....I think the blade needs More cutting

edge.

A knife with a big handle needs a big blade.

I used to be a daily milli carrier but the Gayle Bradley has taken up permanent residence in my pocket since the day I got it.

My Military is my biggest knife and I EDC Spydercos from 2.7" all the way through the 4" Mili, and I like all of them! The Para 1 is my absolute favorite because the blade at 3 1/4" is substantial enough and the oversize handle gives me complete control! To me the Para 1 is Spydie perfection!

I'd still trust my old original Manix to save my bacon in the bush. I almost got an orange military but went FB for a while instead. I know that I have to get one. But at $150.00 a pop up here in Canuckia, FB's look mighty attractive. Regardless, one day I'll grab one. Either black blade digital camo, or the orange slabs. Orange makes more sense in the woods, to avoid drop loss.

I carry a Police 3. Since my teens I've always had a thing for full size "tacticals" like the Kasper/Crawford, Wortac, AFCK, ect. I think so highly of the Police 3 that it bumped the AFCK Axis to be my main EDC. I'm confused as to why I don't hear more on here about it. It's just plain more knife & much more easily carried than it's peers in my collection. Someone really put some thought into this design.

I have a Police with stainless handle. It's a nice, hefty knife, but I don't carry it because the handle is too slick and thin. I can open it one-handed, but prefer more grip to hang onto.

All that being said, I would like to handle a Police with a G10 handle to see how it feels.

I carry a military most days and love having the length for slicing, but I always have a couple more as well- generally small, med, and large.

I live in NJ where carrying any knife can get you arrested. So, if I carry it's always something on the smaller side.

yep, I like larger folders, right now its a bradley. I like em, cause if I got to do some heavy cutting, I like a larger handle. precisely why I like the paras as well. I'm not really into huge folders though. 3.5 is kinda my limit

My D4 used to feel plenty big and always got the job done. Then I starting carrying my Tenacious at work... Then I grabbed a couple E4's to play with. Still "EDC" my D4 when I'm not working but it definately feels small now. Still plenty of knife for anything I'll do, though.

Work wise I generally carry a Millie or Para or both. Blades at around 3.5 - 3.75 inch though or have always hit a sweet spot with me. But at the end of the day how many 3.5 inch blades does a guy actually need??

In the case of the original Para contrary to the OP's observations (To some extent the same could be said about the Millie). I've always enjoyed the Para's blade/handle ratio. I have rather large hands and in my experience often knives with a smaller blade length have equally small handles, this isn't always great if your actually trying to put them to any great work. Decent sized handles on work knives are essential regardless of blade length.

I've found that the comparatively large handle on the original Para easily enables you to get the full potential out of the relatively smaller blade. I've primarily EDC'd a Para for about 3 years now. I've never once felt robbed my the fact that there could be more blade packed into the handle. Although If need a bigger blade there's always a Millie close by.

I really like my para 2!!! ive been carrying it pretty non-stop for the past month. I still love my smaller blades though. they just fit in certain situations. I rock a G10 Delica 4, a Sage 1, and a Chicago. I also will carry a g10 UK Penknife drop point, and a salt 1. The benchmade mini griptilian is also another favorite.

RIGHT NOW THOUGH IM ROCKING THE PARA!!!!!!!

and im very sorry for anyone who didn't get to pick one up. I nabbed mine for only 185 bucks!

I've been carrying the Endura 4 a lot lately- I bought 3 of them for $15/ea! Part of the reason is the light weight, and for what I paid, if my Endura gets abused, I'm not out much. It's what I usually carry when I'm on the job (armed security) or at a military school.

The rest of the time, I usually carry a Native or a Manix 2.
