I'm curious, of those of you who own and or have used EDC'ed BOTH of these knives wich one did you prefer and why? I love the design and looks of each, but have never handled either one.
Just looking for opinions from those who know
Thanks

I'm partial to the AD myself. Little bit longer and thinner blade shape. Has a lanyard hole, whereas the GW does not. (See bottom two knives.) The GW is more compact and is a great knife in its own right, but I do like the AD a little more.

While the sizes are very comparable, the GW handle seems to be better suited to multiple grip positions, whereas the AD (and other EDC handles) is really engineered for optimal grip in the traditional position. The rear talon hole gets in the way of a reverse grip, which is the way I prefer to hold when using a blade for skinning.

The Game warden has a full flat grind on the blade and the blade is taller so it's thinner. Some people might say that makes for a better slicer but an AD is pretty thin already.

I haven't had my AD's long enough to form an opinion on the grip, they are both good for me.

I only have a couple of ADs, but they are both pretty thin slicers.

Custom Shop with snake comes in at .152". 2007 SE is actually just a bit thicker at .165".

Of course, there's also the Heavy Duty at roughly .200" and the Off Duty at around .350" (specs from bussecollector.com). The latter is approaching railroad spike territory.

is that a BA3LE, 2nd from bottom, guyon? maybe an aba3...

Got it on the second try. I do assume you meant second from the top though.

If I'm not mistaken, it's an Anorexic Badger Attack LE. I got it on the secondary market though and am not 100% positive about the precise designation.

There's a similar knife, the Euro 4, that I would love to own.

whoops... i did mean top, of course. that's my favorite one you pictured; snakeskin looks really good with the rope texture.

GW is a great small skinner, The AD has a much better point and larger grip for self defence and general use.

GW is lighter and more compact but I feel better with the AD

Heck, there so differant you need both

I only own two busses; A Leprechaun Warden and a Muddy AD and I've used neither for any cutting as of yet ^_^

The Warden feels much smaller in the hand than the AD, with the butt of its handle tucking into my rather small hand.

Most noticeably for me is the aggressive texture of the AD's grip as opposed to the mild lines of the GW; The AD indexes much more easily and bites firmly into the palm where as, whilst the GW is by no means slippy it doesn't enspire as much confidence in grip as the AD (I assume this comes down to the self-defence issue).

I do hope BAs are offered in the ABA form again in the future. They look like such a nice small field util knife! The AD had always been the one busse I truly wanted, but owning one now I can't help but wish i had that little bit more blade and belly that the ABA offers.

i normally carry a gw, but am leaning toward switching to a mili ad.

the belly on the gw limits its use as a utility blade. i think the ad will work better as an all around edc.

Exactly what i've been thinking.

The AD is a very nice knife and I’d always want one as a user in my rotation; same goes for a MS.

But while a few people here feel that the blade shape may be better for an all around knife, and I see their point, I would not carry one on a fishing/hunting trip. For me it is too prone to puncture and dig into things that you just want to slice open. And as RBMCMJR pointed out the GW handle works better in the field.

But I do wish it had another 1/2 inch of blade and maybe 1/4 inch of handle.

Bring on the Big Game Warden:D

yeah, for cleaning game or fish it would probably not be the best option. too pointy. the gw would definitely excel in this arena.

but for the edc mundane stuff, the gw belly sometimes gets in the way.

and id love a tall warden. (long warden sounds wierd)

super warden? mean warden? extra warden?
