What do you guys carry when you go to the gym? If you don't, then what would you carry in gym/active shorts? It's gotta fit a few criteria right? Something light, thinnish, corrosion resistant, and a pocket clip that wouldn't be super annoying to get on a thick soft waistband. I'll tell you what I started with that I thought would be perfect: a Cold Steel Air Lite. A month later, rust spots appeared, which was most probably my fault for not opening it and making sure it was dry before putting it away everyday. I'm currently going with the black coated Pyrite which I'm hoping the coating helps prevent corrosion but am ready for someone to tell me that I'm completely wrong.

Tbh I wear whatever I usually do, which is just a blade think is looking good that day.
I’ve gone from a dragonfly to a Millie.

Lately it’s been the swayback, if rust was a problem ( which it hasn’t been for me) I would stay with a salt.

Depends on how much you sweat, and how your sweat affects steel. It does seem to vary from person to person.
If you sweat a lot the Spyderco Salt series is light and pretty much corrosion proof. I'd look at something in that series.
If corrosion is less of an issue, maybe a VG10 Dragonfly. Very light weight but still has a clip and is a useful size.

I have a civivi elementum wharncliffe as my work knife. I ride a motorbike for work. It rains. I get wet. Knife gets wet. Hasn't rusted yet.

Nitro v steel which is supposed to be rust resistant.

The wharncliffe makes it a really nice slicer and packet opener.

No idea about the fuzzy waist band.

Or. Do what I do at the gym and carry a fanny pack.

When I was younger and ran trails, I always carried a small CRK Sebenza, clipped to the waist band. I didn’t ever notice or lose it.

In shorts / sweats / workout gear and not home it means a quick errand, walking trail with my wife or the gym. That means Tommy's Gunpack for the G19 ,spare mag, keys, wallet, flashlights...and whatever Sebenza I want. I also a few months ago put a dedicated untratech in the bag between the mag and light.
Actually just loaded up for my 1st post surgery walk this morning.
Yuck it up youngsters...pops is well armed.

It's been a while since I've been to the gym. April to October I generally get my exercise outside. In October I partially tore the MCL in my left knee. 2 months in a brace, which caused an ankle injury, further exacerbated by my nephew kicking me and breaking my heal.

When I did go to the gym, I carried something lightweight. Before I gave it to my brother-in-law it was a PM3 lw Spy27.

Once I'm healed up and able to work out again, I'll probably carry the Cheburkov Strizh.

Idk if I every carried on me in the gym?
Changing, showers, etc, might be hard to explain.....?

In a bag maybe next to you? YES.

When working out/running outside that's easy......same gear as "normal"

Do rubber knives count?

In the past I'd occasionally carry a rubber knife.
With permission of the instructor, and any training partner.

I wanted to get used to it.
How it carried.
How it felt during movement.
And it adds a certain excitement stabbing someone during unrelated activities.....

Benchmade Shootout. I know Cruwear isn't corrosion resistant, but the blade isn't exposed so no sweat on it. Also, I'm actually less worried about an OTF accidentally opening during vigorous activity than most other folders. It's light enough that it's my preferred carry for any gym shorts or similar, but I don't know if it will work for you.

If I carried at the gym, my native 5LW in magnacut would be my first choice.

Or better yet strap a dive knife to your calf!

If I carried at the gym, probably a Salt of some flavor.
TBH, I live less than one mile from my gym that is a very short drive through my neighborhood. I've never even seen the inside of the locker room. I go at 3:30am, and I don't even pack my wallet let alone a knife.

I sometimes carry my Spyderco Lil Native in 20cv on runs and in gym shorts. Awesome little knife, it handles like it’s bigger than it is!

Blacked-out serrated Spyderco Pacific Salt. Capable, low profile, weighs next to nothing. Recommended!

I think a Dragonfly Salt is a great option.

I don't carry IWB, but the best clip design conducive to comftorble IWB carry (and retrieval) that I've ever owned was the Benchmade Mini-Onslaught
