H.D. primary chain-what steel?

IG,

That chain pressed like L-6. It came through the 88 layer 1095/5160/15n20

damascus when I put it in the press.

I picked up a fresh bottle of acetylene, today. We are going to twist the other two billets tomorrow. I'll post some pics when I get it ground.

Fred

once i get good at knife making and build a second forge for making damascus i will probably start a line of H.D. primary chain damascus knives since every weekend about 50-75 bikers come to the small town i live in and most of them drive a harley. im sure i can get some BIG bucks for those knives. i would just have to figure out what kind of handle to put on it. i cant wait to see the pics of that finished knife.

Mark Nevling of Burr Oak Knives in Illinois made a great looking Harley Panhead chain knife that you could see the chain links clearly. It is amazing.

Spoken like a True Biker

PM me your snail mail address. You have a look at them first and if you like just send the chain Yes?

Bruce!!! I got to soak this sucker in gasoline for awhile.  I never seen a chain loaded with this much sludge. One of my Bro has the bike and is restoring it and he said the whole motor and tranny was load with it.:D
