It's a plastic capsule, and to the best of my knowledge there were no plans for it to contain a kit. Perhaps they may have one as an upgrade package, but that's pure speculation.

Dammit, you guys are killing my wallet! I just ordered the RC-6 from KSF on Thursday, a Fenix PD20 from 4Sevens, then Friday ordered a Spyderco Delica 4 and the new Ladybug3 with the H1 blade. I've been eyeing the IZULA and an RC-4, now this! Add to this fact that I've just spent close to $1000 in the last month on photography gear!

Oh, and I was reading an older thread about the kydex sheaths and per your suggestion, I emailed Mike to inquire about them. I could use kydex sheaths for all my gadgets!

How does the HEST compare/contrast with the Izula? I've got an RC-6 on my wishlist for this year, but the HEST is looking pretty nice too....

Delivery is still supposed to be early May. First production models will be with a Kydex folded sheath similar to the RC4 sheath. The knife will have micarta slabs attached to the knife. The capsule will come later and be injection molded from polyethylene most likely. The later sheath will also be injection molded and more like the curent Izula sheath. We are doing our best to get this thing to market in a reliable, durable form that you will be happy with. I will update when we have more. Mike

I agree with rksoon, I would really like to see a HEST along side an Izula for comparison. I am looking to have 3 good, reasonably priced neckers...so far I have a Becker BK11, and an Izula, and i am thinking the HEST might be the third if it isn't too big.
Side note...Trinity of choppers: Becker BK1, Becker BK9, and Kershaw Outcast...I couldn't wait for the RAT RTAK, but when it comes out, one of the others may be dethroned! Trinity of mid-sized blades: RAT RC-4, Becker BK10, and CS SRK.

The H.E.S.T. is a bit larger than the Izula, but mostly in the handle. However, the highly skeletonized handle makes it super light as well. You need one. You know it.

. What kinda RAT guy would I be anyway if I didn't have one of each? Actually, the larger handle would appeal to me, I like (within reason) larger handles on small blades. I'm thinking the capsule would be a plus for making the handle more hand-filling too. :thumbup:

Any talk on colors other than black? I know for those individuals playing adult hide-and-seek in the military or law enforcement, black is the way to go, but for clods like me wandering around in the woods, tactical pink is hard to misplace.
