Ok, the other day I received a 5/16 original INFI SHSH and it appeared thinner than my HOFSH 5/16 I had on hand so I figured it was really not 5/16 but a 1/4 or a hair over. So this morning I figured I would measure the SH's. So I pulled out several Satin HOFSH's including the one that I had compared to the 5/16 SHSH. I also pulled out the 5/16 shsh. Anyway I measured the HOFSH's and they all came close to or near 5/16, I pulled out the shsh and the same thing, except it looks thinner because of the black coatng. Then I measure the HOFSH I had originally compared ind it was much thicker. It measured between 5/16 and 3/8 but beig much closer to 3/8 inch. I was shocked. Out o all my Satins it is the only one that is thicker than 5/16.

Here is a pic of it and a pic of it alon with a Cold Steel Satin Trailmaster. The TM is 5/16 and is done on a machine so it's measurement is near exact. This will give an idea as to how much thicker this HOFSH is.

Thicker is better:D
Some trailmasters are thicker then others. Old Carbon V satin Trailmasters are 5/16 stock some of the Jap made ones in San mai is a bit thicker.

Nice HOFSH mag you scored there

Cheers,

André

Yes, my satin TM is 5/16 on the money. My other Busses HOFSH's are the same thickness. This one is just visibly thickr and you can feel the weight as well.

I was over at Skunks place and we had to change the sheets. Give me a break.

The real question is "Why did you have to change the sheets?" :jerkit:

On second though, maybe we don't want to know...:foot:

How thick in mm?

You seem to mave the SH HOFSH area knives covered. :D

I only have two Busse knives and they have not been in my hands yet. One MOJO fro the extrawaganza and a HOSFH LE from another members collection.
They will both get to me on april 26th.:D OOOHHHHH yeah.

Cheers,

André

gimmejr, The Camera is a Cannon Elph Sureshot 4mpxl

Andre', I really hope you get the other one as well. Congrats on the purchases. 9 mm thickness n the HOFSH

Thanks for the info.

I think you need to find the "close-up" mode it is a flower symbol. With a 4 mega camera you should be able to get much "better" pictures.

My camera is only 3.2 mega.

Cheers,

André

San mai Trailmaster and home made bullets for my .500 Jeffery.

Yes what andre said, use the macro setting for close up shots. Also while focusing, make sure the little box, that appears on the viewscreen, is on the subject itself and not on a background object. I have a older powershot but I need to upgrade.

Thanks, I did not even know there was a macro setting. Very cool. I will do that from now on.

Now get to work and post some cool pictures of that thick INFI knife.
With the Trailmaster:thumbup:

PS you should use the micro mode for most knife pictures.

Cheers,

André

Most Busse knives sold as 5/16th do not quite measure up.

There are true 5/16th knives out there a true .3125".

I have one, the Infamous Fat Bastard triple ground Straight Badger. :p

I have sold a few other fat Badgers and a couple Fat SHSH's in each INFI and A-2.

True Fatties are rare, to have one even fatter is Way Cool

Most knives are not the thickness that is stated.
It is rare that they are thicker, that is for sure.

I just mesured my vintage Randall 12-11H, it is 0.342 (8.72mm) that knife should be from 3/8" 0.375 tool steel. I guess the grinder stole some steel!!! I want it back

The tree trailmasters I have are:
Carbon V old style satin finish :0.287 (7.3mm)
San Mai version 0.306 (7.75mm)
Black Intruder Trailmaster 0.307 (7.77mm)

I look forward to getting my HOFSH LE to see what thicknes it has. I pray for a fattie:D

Cheers,

André

Does the HOFSH have a magnum handle. Can you tell me the difference between the magnum and the regular.

Thanks

Well, now my problem is that my battery will not maintain it's life. So I just charged it and turned on the camera and looked for the setting and the camera went dead. But I could not find the setting.

Did you buy the camera second hand? You might want to run down to radio Shack and fetch a new battery. I had the same problem when I bought my Canon powershot g2 from Ebay. The macro button should have the little flower symbol seen here:
