Title basically says it all I'm looking for a knife that is rust proof or very resistant to corrosion has to have liners (unlike spyderco salt) and under 165$ I'm not sure any one really makes that but thought I would ask also I would definitely prefer part serrations

Is there any way to add a liner to a spyderco since I can find them for 70$ I would be able to spend a lot of money on customization I think I posted a thread similar to this awhile ago but that was before I was "into knives". So I wasn't as specific and smaller budget. I'm fine spending money on custom liners if that's even possible (excuse my ignorance ) also between 3-4 in blade length

This knife would be a knife that I get wet but don't care

Thx

You may consider buying an H1 spyderco and the matching vg10 version, and then doing a bladeswap, if they will fit. IM NOT COMPLETELY SURE, but i assume some of the models will fit in either handle. the stainless liners would need to be rinsed but should be a pretty good compromise.

Why do you need liners? Have you broken a salt? They are pretty tough.

Many of the non h1 stainless knives have pretty good corrosion resistance to fresh water. If you aren't around salt water you probably won't have much issue.

The obvious answer to me is to grab a Salt, come to terms with the linerless folder, and get a fixed blade Salt to go with it for the tougher tasks.

Or get a Benchmade H20, but if you want serrated I think the dual Spyderco option is probably better.

If you don't have any need or interest in a sea-safe fixed blade then I could see trying the suggestion of buying a Salt for the H1 and the corresponding liner-equipped FRN or G-10 knife and doing a blade swap.

I have had two Salts in hand, a Saver and a Pacific, and the linerless FRN is much more rigid and substantial than I expected. Maybe you could find a durability or destruction test on them to see if they would hold up for you?

Well I'll tell you I've broken some nice folders without liners but not with them so yeah I don't want to break it

I'm tough on my knives and if they don't hold up I get rid of them or put them in the bottom of the drawer

And one tried what Adam said above?

I have not tried the blade swap but I believe it would work. The problem then becomes the liners will not be as rust resistant as the blade. They will rust. Not as bad as a stainless blade steel but it will still happen.

Have you considered a Benchmade with N680? Like a 915. The internals are coated except for the Omega Springs. I've taken mine into water multiple times with no rust. It has thick liners and strong G10.

Not trying to devalue your requirements, but why are liners necessary? I've used Spyderco linerless knives very hard, and they have stayed solid with years of use and some abuse. I actually wish more linerless knives were made.

Benchamde makes a knife with their equivalent of H1 type steel, but with an Axis lock. It looks like a great knife.
