• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

For tent based camping, should I stock up on collasible cateens? (I have a ton of these from the service), or the more solid, old fashioned aluminum canteens? (Old Army and round trail type): I have a number of them, too. Also- for the trail, I really prefer a solid canteen, what is the dependqability of the "bite" resevoir pastic bag types? I had experience with those at the end of my reserve career, but was never fond of them.:thumbup:Thanks-y'all.

I use 1 nalgene that attaches to my filter and then either a platypus or camelbak. The aluminum bottles are nice and sturdy, but having said that, I've been using camelbaks for years and have never had one rupture. plus when the plastic ones are empty they take up no space.

I had a few round type aluminum and the straps broke on both,to me they suck....I would go with nalgene type containers....or the army plastic canteens 1 & 2 L versions
