Been seeing a lot of these lately and only had a short amount of time to work in the shop(my wife gave birth to number 2 son last week:D:D:D) so I gave one a go....well 2.

Pretty basic, but very functional. I can definetly see why this style is quite popular.

Specs:

3/32 thick O1
5-1/2 inches overall
2-5/16ths cutting edge

Convex ground, flats left "rough" from heat treat, then hit with a scotchbrite belt all over. Tan wrap with a little knot to finish it off. No sheath yet, that is tomorrow.

I made another one with a bit more of a drop point to it and plan to finish that up tomorrow as well. The Kephart design I started and posted about last week should get finished out tomorrow too:D Nice having my inlaws here to help out and allow me to beetle off to the shop for awhile:thumbup::)

Let me know what you think???

Craig

Craig,
Congratulations on the birth of your son! That's awesome. You are blessed.

That blade came out real sweet. I really like the simplicity of designs such as that. Looks like it would make an excellent EDC. How about posting a few more pics? Plan on selling these?

That looks super handy CKE2. Good call on the double wrap job. In this size of knife, I do like 1/8" a bit, just because I find myself using my thumbs on the spine to push cut and 3/32" is just a tad thin to do that comfortably. I like the blade style with the skeletal handle.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. He is quite the little guy...keeping us busy that is for sure.

I can post some more pics up later. I have 2 of these almost ready they are in the shop waiting for sheaths. I hope to have them done in a few days....then up for sale.

Thanks again and take care:thumbup:
