I sure hope you get a chance to meet him... He's one nice guy...

I talked with 4 people that bought knives and had him sign them, all said he was the nicest gentleman they had ever had a chance to meet,I have a lot of respect for him,i know one thing, any of my bucks that get his signature will NEVER be sold..I would love to have a chance to sit down and talk knives, especially to here about the early days ,i'll bet there are some great stories to be told..

I met him as well on the 14th, he is a great guy. I bought a standard Buck 110 Folding Hunter and he signed/engraved the blade.

Not sure if I wanna hold on to it or not...but will definitly be hard to let go... IF I do.

I was there at about 4pm, I think I caught him at the very end. I had no idea he was going to be there, just happened to luck out. I collect pocket knives in general, I doubt I'd get rid of it.

Hi All,

I thought I'd use Armands thread on meeting Chuck Buck at Bass Pro Shop and save the forum some space (hope you don't mind Armand).

Chuck Buck was doing a meet & greet knife signing gig at the Mantica CA BP on 8/20, 8/21 this week. I hope anyone who lives in the area had the chance to drop in and say hi to Chuck. It was the first time I had the opportunity to meet any of the Buck family and CB is genuinely a kind and gracious man.

I have been working out of state and only get home on the weekend if time allows it. That said time spent with my wife is limited and short, she also works the weekend days....so a whole day spent together now is rare. Saturday 8/21 she had the day off to spend with me. My wife is into the Buck knife thing about as much as holding a bunch of worms....she doesn't like it at all. But, she knows how much I love my Buck knives so she was a good sport and said, "I'll go with you just to spend the time together".

We spent the 90 minute drive out to Mantica chatting, until we arrived at the store. She made it clear to JB "YOU CAN"T BUY ANY NEW KNIVES, WE CAN"T AFORD IT"......gulp ok honey......I said. When we arrived at the knife section there was MR. Buck signing a knife for a fellow customer, so we waited our turn. Chuck is truly a warm and caring man as we talked, he told my wife she was a good sport for coming along. My wife said to MR. Buck that he was the bane of her existence....then rephrased it to your company's knives are the bane of her existence because I have a whole room full of them at home! I was a little surprised at the turn in the conversation (thinking oh sh..).

Chuck, being a shrewd and savvy salesman took the opportunity to direct the conversation to kitchen cutlery. Then he told her about a kitchen knife that his wife loves a 941 spreader, Chuck then said "I have one out in my car I'd like to give you". The man told the sales manager he was going to take a short break, left the signing and took us outside to his auto and presented the knife to my wife. He took the time to show her the knife, and told her to be careful as that it's edge was very sharp.

Upon returning home she was telling her story of how she came to have such a wonderful gift from MR. Buck. She explained everything Chuck had said about the kitchen utensil right down to the warning about very sharp edge and just touched the edge and got a small cut on her finger;).
THANK YOU MR. BUCK.
