Had a small dose of SHTF in my city today. How quickly things go to hell.

I would very much like to visit the US. However I am not setting my foot in that quasi fascist country where they treat everyone that doesnt have a US passport as a criminal until proven unguilty, and even so you get harassed anyway. Like that icelandic girl who was arrested and detained last year when visiting the US for overstaying her visa in 1995.

It is nothing personal against the people living there, it is a system thing. If Europe were to enforce all the regulations that are in effect the other way, lists of who wants to travel at least 48 hours in advance, fingerprints and biometric registration on everyone, registration of race, sexual orientation and other unessential information stored indefinately and all that, the US govt would go ballistic, especially if the European border police were to "randomly" select some type of travellers just because they look in a certain way. Hey, that Obama guy has Kenyan relatives and a strange name, lets throw him in a cell for some hours.
What if German police were to "kidnap" people in the states just because they were accused of something in Europe, and then use some obscure third reich law to justify that. The US does that today and justify that with some obscure pirate law from 1860 something. I am amazed that the people in US allow all this just because of the "war against terror".

I'm guessing the lean-to was for protecting the wood he gathered from the elements for making fire if he had too.
 
I do not have Al Jazeera. It would be interesting to have it though.
I do not support the war on this and that, but I support the soldiers sent out to fight it. They deserve the best equipment and resources possible to do a good job and stay alive.
It is a dirty war in many ways.

There are many, many security measures in force now that would have been totally outrageous ten years ago. The 1984 society is coming upon us. Should I put on the tin foil hat now :)
 
Richs, I believe that was a joke, he did not really ofer to trade salt and coffee for the 19y/o either .....

I keep 300 gallons of water in the hot tub and 11,000 in the pool, ok I'll need to chop ice out of the pool this time of year.

Don't EVER compare this country to the Third Reich. We helped liberate Europe from that sorry piece of shit, or are you forgetting that? My Dad was one of those on Omaha beach. You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about, it would be best for you to just shut up now, you look stupid enough.

Just because Nodh isn't from the US doesn't mean he's wrong. If Patrick Henry flew through a US airport today, he'd have a militia gathered by tomorrow. We've become so used to sacrificing our liberty for "security" we've forgotten what it means.
 
If I saw Patrick Henry in a U.S. airport today I'd probably say.."Holy crap, a zombie" ..... sorry just trying to lighten the mood around here.
 
Time to arm the populace and make liberty and security the same thing.
Things can go from a nanny state to a police state pretty quickly I bet.
