Some dude was prying bricks out of his driveway and snapped it. Shipping him a new one. Thought about sending him a crow bar from Home Depot with the new knife. :D

I think I would have mention home depot/Lowe's/Ace hardware to him..... somewhere common sense must be had ,LOL .... reminds me of a CD I have "Used Abused & left for dead"....

What I wonder is how he even possibly thought that a knife was the tool for the job??? You're right--a crowbar works better and costs less!

Most of these type things are not done intentionally. I know I'm guilty of using my folder to do things it shouldn't do simply because I was too lazy to walk to the garage and get the right tool. Then when it snaps the tip off you go "Damn! I'm a dumbass!!"

I was wondering if there were any plans to "upgrade" the thickness of the RC3. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the knife as is but it does seem a little skinny now next to its samller brother the Izula. BTW I don't personally pry with my knives. But if I had to......

Yeah, I have a Spydie Military that's a few mm. shorter and an unopened can of paint to prove that. Too bad Spyderco doesn't have the same warranty that RAT Cutlery has. :o

Yep.. I have a kershaw folder in dire need of a good sharpening. Shingles will put a hurting on that edge, wasn't many but I was in a hurry and had nothing else! :D

Rat carries a folder??

I'm guessing a Buck 110?

i have to say that my knifes go through a lot (i work construction)
and i broke the tip of a knife before but prying bricks?
that is not very smart

I can say anything either I have broke tips off of knives doing some dumbshit. opening can of paint, prying boards that were nailed together. Digging bullet out of tree ect ect. I have broke everything from Benchmades to machetes. Aint broke a RAT yet though.

Prying bricks? What was he thinking. Wait .. I broke a few prying open crates before.. nevermind.

I have read the warranty and love it but damn. If I am prying bricks and tip my knife (which is something I might do in a fit of stupidity), I will suck it up, call myself an idiot, and drop the money for a new one. I would be too embarrassed to contact anyone.

Since your warranty is so awesome, I wanted to let you know I was trying to pry open a bank vault that I was robbing this weekend, and thought my new RC-3 would open it no problem. It tipped it, can I get a new one? Please hide it in a birthday cake and send it to cell block D Level 3 NC State Pen.

Jeff,

I don't have to say how much I like RAT Cutlery and everyone associated with it but I do have to say once again how I respect your attitude of taking care of the customer and producing a quality product, including the customer service in that.

Even with a case of "dumb ass" on with someone breaking the knife, you still replaced it.

Kudos bro.

A crowbar would be the better choice but as you said...

Take it easy brother.

Please don't make the RC-3 any thicker. The reason why I like mine so much is that it's a good slicer (IMO just what you want in a small knife) and not a sharpened prybar.
