Had another RC-3 to break...

The RC-3 is going to stay the same as it is now. ;)

Welll.. as one being guilty of hammering think ice with my TAK, I know better then to pry with my RC knives..... thats what they make Ontario Pilot knives for :D

Most of these type things are not done intentionally. I know I'm guilty of using my folder to do things it shouldn't do simply because I was too lazy to walk to the garage and get the right tool. Then when it snaps the tip off you go "Damn! I'm a dumbass!!"

I can attest to that, I was using a SOG Field Pup to pry open the hinges on a cheap 10 dollar beach bed from Wal Mart that got bent because I was to lazy to walk outside and grab my prybar or screwdriver, nevertheless the knife did not break but slip out of the groove, so 13 stitches and a 642 emergency room bill later I said Damn! I'm a dumbass!!

Some dude was prying bricks out of his driveway and snapped it. Shipping him a new one. Thought about sending him a crow bar from Home Depot with the new knife. :D

Now what I'm wondering... Does the poor guy understand how to properly pry bricks loose now? Or, is he going to return the second knife with a broken tip?

I have read the warranty and love it but damn. If I am prying bricks and tip my knife (which is something I might do in a fit of stupidity), I will suck it up, call myself an idiot, and drop the money for a new one. I would be too embarrassed to contact anyone.

Since your warranty is so awesome, I wanted to let you know I was trying to pry open a bank vault that I was robbing this weekend, and thought my new RC-3 would open it no problem. It tipped it, can I get a new one? Please hide it in a birthday cake and send it to cell block D Level 3 NC State Pen.

Whitty

HAHAHA! Nice!

I tell you that is a shameful waste of a good knife, not the right tool for the job, not by a long shot, even a flathead screwdriver would have been better.

I was wondering if there were any plans to "upgrade" the thickness of the RC3. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the knife as is but it does seem a little skinny now next to its samller brother the Izula. BTW I don't personally pry with my knives. But if I had to......

Check out the RC-5:thumbup: That would be a supreme crowbar

When I recently received my RC-5 that is what immediately went through my mind. A sharpened crow bar indeed. With a bit more refinement, but not much. :D

I need to get and RC-3 and 4 to actually cut stuff with. :D

I am real sorry to hear of your disappointment!
I will trade you my like new RC-3 straight up for that "sharpened crow bar". Let me know and I'll put the entire package in FedEx to you.

HEHEHEHE been there done that but not with a RAT!!!!

Hey I know from experience that while at work the RC3 on your hip is a lot closer than the crow bar back at the shop AND it's WAY cooler

Looked like an orange-handled bladetech piece, if I remember correctly.

As far as I am concerned Blade Tech makes the best folders out. I have a Magnum Pro Hunter and a Magnum MLEK. After I got them I was so impressed I sold every folder I had except a 710 user.

That's how I ended up purchasing my first RAT. I figured since I had the best folder out I now needed the best fixed blade. I believe I have found it with RAT Cutlery.

Pry bar???? Sounds like someone needs a sign.:D

I agree with ya,I love the Blade Tech Mag. Pro Hunter(I have the Green G10 PE version),I'd gladly swap my Spyderco mil for another Blade Tech Pro hunter... Excellent folder coupled with an RC fixed blade...great combo
