Had to sell my Rc-5...

I've accrued a significant amount of credit card debt, so I had to free up some funds. I decided to sell my Rc-5 :(. I usually am the advocate of the rc-5 on the rat forum but I decided that the Rc-4 would be a better choice to keep than the Rc-5. So I still have my Rc-4 and Izula. Tell me I made the right decision...

Dude...if you're innocently driving down the road, and an airplane crash lands out of the sky and engulfs your car...well, you're totally screwed now. The RC4 might get you out of your car, but then you've got the whole burning airplane to deal with now.

I'd add a 3 foot titanium crowbar into the passenger compartment of your car, just to be safe.

:)

A man has to do what he has to do. The RC-4 will serve you well!

IMO the RC-4 is better than the RC-5. I haven't handled an RC-5 but it seems way overbuilt and the RC-4 will probably perform, cutting wise, better.

I've got 'em both, and I've got to agree. If I was dumping knives, the RC4 is the one I'd keep.

Thanks guys, I mean there's a good chance that i'll buy another rc-5 in the future, as well as the rest of the Rat line. I guess right now I needed to stick with what's practical.

Hope you found it a good home, with somebody who will put to good use. You'll get plenty more in the future. ;)

Look at the bright side. When you replace it you can buy the one that comes with the survival kit. :)

I like my RC5, parting with it would be tough.
As RAT said, you do what you have to.
Good luck brother.

Hey hey,

Like you, I have to reduce my overall collection of blades to keep up with some money issues. But the up side is, you still have two different RC products, and either will serve you well for as long as you need them too. The future might hold an RC-5 for you again, or another RC product yet to catch your eye, or not. But the two you have still are more then ready to do whatever is needed. The only real wrong choice you could of made was to sell them all and not replace them sometime when money is better. :)

Enjoy what you have, don't fret about what you "could have"!

And that really solved the problem?

No, selling my rc-5 didn't eliminate my debt totally, but it did take care of a few payments when as of right now I have hardly any income at all lol. I'm not a bum or anything, I'm just a senior in college about to graduate in a year, and I need to get things in order so I can get a good job. Accounting firms don't like their potential employees to have a bad credit history.

Anyway, back to the subject. Thanks for everyone's comments. I'm glad that I still have my trusty Rc-4 and izula at my side :)

Sell...RC-5....keep RC-4....uncomprehensible....

What will you do when you need to cut down 10 foot thick trees, defend yourself from zombie invasions, cut through bank vaults, etc??? I mean seriously, if you don't have an RC-5, you're not prepared for above emergencies should they arise. I don't understand why people don't see the practicality of the RC-5...

Love my RC-5, I have an RC-4 also and whenever I go out into the wilderness, my 5 comes with me over my 4, though I love my 4 too.

I'm gonna have to agree with Dizwolf, you're SOL if this likely event will happen.
