Howdy Buck Nuts,
During the time I have been coming here I have come to know and [[ kinda sorta brotherly type of thing]] love all you guys.. I would not hesitate if in any part of the country to call on any of you guys close by to my assistance if I truly needed it as I hope any of you would also call on me ! Lord knows I called several when I got lost getting to Ohio!!!

Any way we have a ACTIVE BCCI life member that most likely would never have an opportunity to make it here for a face to face as there are only so many funds that are jest ear marked for the shelter and love of wife and kids … And if any one knows how tight things can get I sure do! … so with out further adue…

I wanted to let you all know I will be kicking off a drive to raise funding to bring Herbert Noll
-Our friend here known as Haebbie-
To Post Falls, Idaho for the July- Buck Collectors Club inc meeting and celebrations..

Now why Haebbie… well …he posted on the forum a few times and I wrote him thinking he was some one else at first and though he was not the person I was trying to contact he was very nice and was most helpful! He was at first shy and concerned that his English would not allow him to be fully active and ALL you guys with me assured him that it was not a problem and we all welcomed him in to our forum family as a buck brother! He came to buy a lifetime membership in the BCCI as he felt so at ease and one with us buck nuts and wanted to be a part of some thing with us.

During this time all of you and I have watched him join in on all manner of topics and knife stuff!
He is a regular poster and made much effort to insure that we could understand what he wanted to express.
I know that at times he spent a LOT of time with a dictionary looking up what he needed to know so we could understand his thoughts…as well as looking up odd words we used! Times I have wandered of him understanding my postings with out the help of a dave de-coder ring let alone the times I tried to use German! We all have had some fun and lots of laughs with German/English translation and phrasing!!!!

However, on a more serious note there have been a number of times that many of us in dealing with a transaction over in the EU found that there was some sort of difficulty and any time that any one has let him know, he has helped us out with bringing it to a good end…

Most all of us have expressed joy, in hope of or planning to, attend the shindig in post falls this coming July.
In all of this Haebbie has cheered and encouraged us to make our goal to get there… It came to me that he was doing this knowing he would not see it…I for one don’t even know if I will be able to make it there as there are medical issues my family faces. Nevertheless, I have hope to and I did not think he had even thought or considered that he could be there. Hummm….

All of us here have contributed to help meet different needs of others lives… and that is the nature of those that collect buck knives. Having watched all of the guys here support worthy causes it came to Gold Dave & me at about the same time … that hay… jest maybe … we could bring Haebbie here!!! …
In this case it is not a charity or need of some one else… It is some thing to do for our selves and for your self ~ …
A contribution / share to have a friend meet us at our house…because we may never get the chance to go to his.

and that is how I and some others I have talked to feel of it as a group effort … this is to bring him here, in other words … you donate to this not as a charity but because- if you get to post falls your self then you can say
“hi I am ______ and I am sure glad to meet you !!!”or one of us there will say it for you!

i have said of this to him and he is most embarresed but yet so very prowd that any one, let alone the several that already suport this, would consiter doing this... truly we are crazy americians , i think he might say , to bring a friend here when we could not go there!
i say we are jest buck brothers extending a hand in welcome ...
what say we all... can we do this...
I will post some more on this tomorrow…

Dave

edit: this will be the thread to rase funding!...
i have set up a paypal account of a334dave'at'aol.com and also my normal account of a334dave'at'yahoo.com of course you guys know to put the @ were it says 'at' this is to keep the spamer bots from seeing it is a email address...
so far there is 170$ in the funding account... there is a charge every time paypal comes in so that is why some 1to 2 percent diffrence!
if you want to send a check emai me an i will send you a street addy!!

agaijn this is some thing you can do to see a friend at post falls!!
later dave

Hi Dave,

I'm in where do I send the funds? MR. Noll is a fine fellow and I'd like him to come on over the big pond and meet us at Post Falls.

jb4570

My friend JB, i most deeply thank you for your suport and
the first posting of YES we can!

i have set up a basic paypal account that will hold the funds...
your advice that the basic charges more has me consiterting useing my premeir account of a334daveatyahoodotcom as it does not charge as much and xfering them to the a334daveataoldotcom basic in larger amounts...
your thoughts would go a long way in that decision...

Is there a target goal to reach for? And a deadline?

humm verry good questions !
well i checked and it looked like it would take apx 1,600usd for air fair this due to the weak dollar...
there would be some other expense involved also
i wrote haebbie and he is checking as to if he can get better flight prices from there via one of several airlines from germany...
he is checking on discount flights to say san fran or la then local to post falls
and we are checking in to one bachalter shareing a room with him there...

time limites... i would guess late may or june ...
total could be as high as 2000$ but again things are jest getting started...

i sent two 120 generals { a two line and a 3 line} to Joe Houser ~
he is donateing his time and work ~ to work some
heep big JH show white ju ju majic on !
these will likely be one off"s and may have a coa to that effect.
they will be auctioned off on ebay and
sparks (hpic) also suports this idear and fund raiser!
and HE has said that when that happens we can post the listings here on the forum !
so thoes funds from the listing will be put in the kitty also...
i also plain to donate a few knives as drawings for donaters every so often when a goal level is met..
~~ because of the pay pal charges it requested 10$ min is useing that ave. ...
for smaller ammounts or non pay pal donations i will send my street addy to any one to send personal checks ...
amounts will be posted every so often..
donators can remain known only as a "good buck a roo" if desired!

Howdy Buck Nuts,
One of the reasons I love it here is that every one knows my name like at a fav restaurant!

Dave

Dave, my friend,

I will answer your question you asked me a time before: Yes, I like to travel to Post Falls. Yes I like to come. I would be happy too meet you and all the Buckaroos who come to Idaho too. And I feel free to accept your Help, to accept your fund that enables me to travel half around the world to meet you. I am very thankful for your initiative. And I stop buying knives and put the savings in the pot. And I'll do everything to come, even though I've to take out a loan.

Dave, Messieurs,

I never thought that I would get the chance to become a part of the annual meeting, especially the 20th anniversary celebrations, not even to dream to meet a lot of you guys in Post Falls. And now, Dave, you took the initiative to bring me to Idaho next summer and you hold out the hat to raise the funds for the tour.

Dave, I am overwhelmed that you collect money to make it possible. Also I am embarrassed, especially because you sell some knives and put the receipts in the hat aside from other activities. How can I ever requite what you do for me? The trivia I did for you and several other guys are not worth mentioning. On the other side it makes me proud that there are People who like to meet me in Post Falls and to be up to give money therefore.

I only liked to have a short answer when I posted in the Blade Forums the first time. And I was not sure, whether my horrible school English was understandable at least. And what I got was a very kind entry, a very warm response. It didn't need a long time and I felt like a member of this community. Do you remember the misunderstanding with the "wind talkers"? I like it to communicate with you, guys, especially when anyone misses his decoder ring. I like to meet you to shake hands with the people who make that Buck world go around.

Guys, see you in Post Falls and Thank you for all.

Best Regards,
Herbert

P.S.: Is it understandable what I wrote? :jerkit:

Messieurs,

you are great! Not only that it is always a fun to take part of this forum, also
because a lot of you like to meet this old German Buck knife nut.

Especially our two Dave make me lucky and proud with their Idea to found a
fund to help me to come to the annual meeting in Post Falls. I am
overwhelmed by the activities of Dave Meier, who fills that fund not only with
life. And I am deeply grateful to you, guys who put a lot of money in the pot
and who announced to do that.

I would be lucky too meet you all in Post Falls. I bought a reservation for a
flight to Spokane, I threw a sop to my wife that she is not angry with me
when I travel to the States without her and I fixed my holidays at the
organization who gives me the paychecks. The last thing to do is to buy a
passport and I can start the journey.

What happens here is the best Christmas present I got, since I got my first
scouts knife from my grandma when I was seven years old.

Guys, I wish you all a peaceful and contemplative merry Christmas and if we
don't "see" us in the meantime: a pleasant turn to the next year.

Grateful yours,

Herbert

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a great New Years.

Thank you very much. For you also a contemplative Christmas and may the Big Boss bring you a successful 2008.

Heabbie ,
Fröhliche Weihnachten!
&
Prosit Neujahr!

Herzlichen Dank für die lieben Wünsche, Karen und Dir wünsche ich ein beschauliches friedvolles Weihnachtsfest und für das neue Jahr viel Kraft und Frohsinn und alles was ihr Euch selber wünscht.

Herbert

whew ! out of breath ...jest have time to stop in for one post!!!
first day i feel better and the wife has a heck of a to do list !!!
and i still have one days worth of antibiotics to take!!!!

now that the Christmass season of giveing and new years celbrations over i want to bring back in mind a thought and dream of several of us to
assist our friend and BCCI life member
Herbert in comeing here for the Post Falls Club meeting!

well we have another donation that at the moment is not money !!!
we have a realy nice knife from texas that will be donated to sell!!!
(picts of it when it gets here!)
there will be two 120's ( from Joe in Post Falls) also that will auction on ebay..
so total monies avabile so far is still only 173$ and i have knives that will
get drawn for give aways to random picked post numbers at diffrent leveles...

so now that the rush's are over ...
i did want to take the time to bring this back to the front of your mindes... ;)

Next steps:

The price for the oil grows and the Dollar sinks. Flight prices wouldn't sink too so I was recommended to buy the flight as soon as possible. So I booked the flight to Post Falls on Friday. Next I've to do is to buy a new passport. And I'll do it soon.

Best,
Haebbie

Dave, I'm lousy with computers and can barely type. I'd like to help. Where can I send a check. I'm not far from Post Falls if that helps.
